About Me
If a picture paints a thousand words, then I hope my paintings reflect a little of me and my love of New Zealands wonderful scenery ond often tranquill moods. Although I am a totally self taught artist, studying graphic design at art school in Wellington in the 60s, taught me composition, attention to detail and the effects of light, all of which greatly influence my style.... I describe as 'innocent realism'
All of my life, I have been acutely aware of my surroundings and constantly see new and exciting views . Im grateful for the wonderful gift of successfully transposing my observations on to canvas using oils as my preferred medium. I not only get tremendous satisfaction from painting the pictures but also derive much pleasure from meeting people from all over the world who share my amazement at the beauty of New Zealands magnificent and pristine landscape.
