About Taupo Veterinary Centre
Every member of our practice loves the team atmosphere our practice provides as we strive to help you and your animals. Our veterinary team offers a broad range of experience and special interests, in production animals, equine and small animals.
Adding recently graduated vets to our team complements our experienced vets. The team then combines the most recent developments with the mentoring and knowledge that comes with time.
Our vets regularly attend conferences and undertake a high level of continuing professional development, to maintain, develop and pass on their skills to you and your animals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love getting Whimzees from the vet and always get excellent service. The staff is knowledgeable and incredibly loving towards Bella (Yorkiepoo dog)...she always gets tonnes of attention and cuddles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love this place. Have taken my three cats and puppy there and they are always so friendly and helpful. The vets are knowledgeable and obviously care about animals. The desk staff are always up for a laugh and for getting all smoochy with the animals. Great people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This vet is awesome, the people that work here actually care,from the vets, to the frontline staff. Special mention to Paul Morris (vet) and Lorraine on front desk reception..These are two of my Chester's favorite people (and I agree) but the whole team work as a team and genuinely care for your pet. Not a money oriented vet that wouldn't talk to you before cash at door. Of course they need to be paid, just like you and I would expect, but you can see animals are why they are in business.
My Chester has had a long and complex health history and everything has been done to try and make his travels the best. Unfortunately he is heading towards that pathway to heaven, (the rainbow in the sky) and are 15 years together and it is very hard for us both. I have moved out of the region but still do phone consults and treatment in joint consult with another vet here. At the end of the day they know my , "boy" and me best.
We are traveling again from Tauranga to Taupo this week and know whatever happens it will be the best decision and made with sensitivity and compassion. Lighting a candle at reception as your pet leaves on its next journey is only one of the compasionsate things they do. SIMPLY THE BEST.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First few visits were a breeze but a case of overpromising ruins future dealings. Front receptionist had verbally promised us $15 credit for a returned item, saying she had entered the credit as a note for our file. I bring in our last receipt with our customer ID and same receptionist refused to offer the credit promised, backing out with the technicalities of how the credit could no longer be lived up to. Did not even strike me as the person to remind about a promise made, when generally she had been a genuine help in the past. $177 worth of canine food was sitting on the counter and the credit promise was simply empty words. Not even any discount or heartfelt apology of ownership of mistake. Tough luck attitude. Will vote with my money from now on, sad because it must be hard competing with online businesses plus free deliveries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a random bird striked on my kitchen window on christmas eve. The bird was not concius at all. I waited almost 30 mins so bird will get back to her life. And it was christmas and everything was closed. Tbh i was concernd about the neighbor's cat, that cat not gonna eat this helpless bird. And i called these people on emergency number. And the staff was so nice and kind towards me. He told me that he will be there at vets in 5 mins please take that injured bird to clinic. And as he promised he was there in 5 mins. I love their sevice. Highly recommemded.

The vet who can unfortunately I do not know her name but she is so kind and helpful and made me feel so much better, even offered to keep him in over night and come back to check on him. I truly appreciate her support and help and a huge thank you to these vets.
