★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've added photos and written up already before. There is more to this museum than just railway engines and operating pumps of all sizes. There are many valuable collections of hats, food tins, clothes, toys from another era. It reminds me of the Museum of Childhood in London. Excellent!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to visit with thr kids old and young. Alot of hands on exhibitions for all to play with and understand how old New Zealand was. PS they have an awesome taonga Māori gallery too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived at this place and drove in through the gate; and this very nice man came out and said the Museum was closed. And then asked us how Ling we are staying here in Rotorua. We said we were going hone on Saturday. He then invited us to have a look around, but not before we started on a friendly conversation about everything. However Bruce said we could browse at our leisure, but I asked him if he would show us around. It was very interesting.looking at the old telephones we used to use in the '70s and before then. And the prices for food and things in £, shillings and pence. Other items I'd never seen before. What a treasure of things to behold.
