★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spent quite a bit of time over our weekend away at the gardens, it's beautiful and peaceful but sometimes you may be lucky to go when there's a band playing in the bandstand. So Saturday we got to listen to 60s tunes as we relaxed... plus there's load's of pokestops and gyms there ? hubby was happy, while I took pictures.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favourite places to visit in Rotorua. The gardens are always immaculate and so pretty. Leave plenty of time to explore and take a moment for yourself. when open the museum is really worthwhile.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not much to do here except walk around for a little while. Museum is closed and the Blue Baths pools are closed. Both buildings have large metal chain fences surrounding them. Did some research.. museum is closed as it the building is not up to earthquake safety standards. Not sure why the baths closed. The gardens are very well kept with beautiful flowers and there is a koi pond I stopped to look at with lots of fish!
There were quite a few bowling greens which was interesting to see but not may people playing. There are also a coupe of gazebos - great for photograph.
There were several thermal spots which smell strongly of sulfur and a couple of ponds that are entirely grey.
Additional notes.. public restrooms available on site.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thanks Rotorua council to have places like this. Allowing us (SC) to have an space to sleep for free so close to the centre, guaranteed that the money saved will be used in the businesses around.
Very nice and big space, we felt safe. Decent toilets, always clean, beautiful gardens well looked after and the beautiful Rotorua museum building.
I hope other councils follow your example. Thanks again.
