★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 8 star location with breaking taking horizons. 55 Giant 3 blade wind pillars scattered along the hills. Stand below the very 1st wind turbine build in 2003 and awe the comparison of how small you are with it. The steady firm “Whoosing” sound from the blade as it rotates. Do wear extra jackets as the wind can be chilly. Sit down or lie down below the wind turbine & be magnetism by the awesome “swooshing” blades. Stay in your car & enjoy a hot cup of coffee, biscuits & quietness of its surroundings

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome views across the saddle road from the lookout. Great renewable energy source for the Manawatu region. More cities and towns with the wind capabilities should introduce this idea. The turbines are also a great attraction and are incredibly interesting to look at. Great place and great idea. I recommend any tourists or travellers to have a look at the wind farm and prepare for amazing views;

Due to mediocre weather in my first visit I had my car posed & photoshot there instead.
In my 2nd visit the weather was great, I had lunch break over there from Waihi Falls n after that headed to Taupo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great views on a clear day. Get right up close to the turbines. Perfect spot for them as its pretty windy up there, so take a jacket and a picnic, AND your camera!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The drive to Fielding was beautiful, especially winding trough the Te Apiti Wind Farm ??
Those turbine windmills are absolutely gigantic ??They are both majestic and hypnotic to watch. Every time I go near it, I get this irrational fear that the blade will cut my car ?? which of course will never happen ??
