★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The 350 year old tree looked like multiple trees that had merged into one. It seemed as if its own branches were too heavy for the stump to hold up, a possible reason for it being wider than it was tall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was fantastic to see such a majestic tree.
It had such a presence overlooking the beach
Must see after going to East Cape lighthouse.
Just down the beach from the main Street of Te Araroa.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Te Waha O Rerekohu, a 350 year old historic tree. The sheer size of the tree alone is enough to warrant a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a beautiful old tree. You can get up close for great photos. Plenty of parking for our big bus. The tree has gorgeous sea views. Public toilets close by. It was very windy the day we visited but that adds to the experience.
