★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Superb service, arrived in tekapo on Wednesday with the brakes in our ute seized, dropped the ute thursday morning and picked it up friday morning, for a mechanic in a small town to be able to source parts and fix the brake in that time frame was excellent, the people who work there were more than helpful and we really appreciate their work. Thank you, highly recommend A++++

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have taken my vw fsi to the tekapo auto for a service! Now I never take my car to this garage ever since the new owners changed,I usually take my car to timaru but I just didn't have time this time so I decided to give tekapo another try!!!! So booked my car on monday for Wednesday! Wednesday turns up and I take my car to the garage and at about 2pm i get a phone call from them saying they didnt order the filter, which was fine they gave us they courtesy car!! Around 6 pm my partner gets a phone call saying that one of the lady's was in front of our house with my car (we had just headed out for a bbq at our friends house) my partner had forgotten his cellphone in the car and didnt see the phone call till 7pm! When we drove to return the courtesy car (in kimbel) the lady was soooooo rude to us!!!! And what pisses me off the most is that SHE HAS A GOLF herself but she put $20 91 petrol in my car!!!!! (It clearly states no 91 to be used on the petrol cap...)
That is unnaccepable!!!! I have never put 91 in my car(I'm sure she never dose either) now every time I start the car it makes a funny noise in the motor that was never there before hand!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Martin went out of the way to help us out after breaking down just out of Tekapo on our way back to Christchurch. We had a wheel bearing problem that required a new wheel bearing. Martin was on his day off and was already going to Timaru for personal appointments, picked up the part for me as courier delivery would be the next day. Got back to the workshop at 430pm and repaired the car for us which involved working til 6pm.
Would highly recommend Martin and the team to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WAY overcharged and nothing was fixed had to get my car moved to Christchurch. My mechanic there tried to reason with them about my bill and they would have noting of it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The service was friendly and people were nice in person.
I took my van in because of issues with cooling system. 4 or so hours and $300 later I got it back the same way, which I didn't know before I had driven an hour away from the town - it took time to heat up.
They were curious about the problems I was having at first and seemed to be wanting to help, but started to ignore me soon after.
I guess they are good, if you know what needs to be done. I'd take it to Cromwell otherwise for example.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazingly generous response by Sharron at Tekapo Auto after our hire car was written off by a hit-and-run driver on Queen's Birthday weekend. She promptly offered us the use of a courtesy car to continue our journey and was just so positive and helpful at every step of the way, despite having no obligation to do so. The very best of people and businesses.

Our car started making a really loud noise after our trip northwest of Lake Pukaki. Since it was a Saturday, the two closest mechanic to us in Twizel or Lake Tekapo. After comparing the reviews on this place, we decided to push our car for a longer drive. This was a risk, of course, but as people have already said on this, the workers were honest with their prices and were very welcoming. We got lucky that they were open Saturday morning! Turns out, our exhaust broke and it took them about an hour to fix it all up! Thanks again Tekapo Auto Services!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As I travelled around with my motorbike in NZ for almost a year, ofcourse I had several opportunities to go into different shops and talk to different mechanics.
This's literally the best among all!
It's not merely good, it's beyond my expectation.
The nice mechanic manager even printed some information about the motorbike so I can have better idea about how it works. They noticed tiny things and helped me to fix a screw on one of my rear light which I didn't mention to them first.
They do a fast service and offer a fair price.
More importantly, they are considerate and caring, having a real heart to help.
