About Thames Medical Centre
I was born in Swansea, Wales and completed my undergraduate degree at Aberdeen University in 1988. I completed 4 years GP training in West Wales, 10 years single-handed GP in Leeds, UK and then emigrated to NZ in 2001. I worked as a GP principal in Matamata for 8 years and have been a director at Thames Medical Centre for 9 years. I'm married with two grown-up children, two grandchildren and a strange dog. I live in Thames and love it here. I don't have one specialty, it's the variety of General Practice that has always appealed to me, and the getting to know people over the years of seeing them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Booked an appointment and took time off work to come just too be brushed off and not listened too by the rude Dr Jouan. She had the biggest attitude like I had done something wrong. Also pretty sure I got over charged when I usually pay $18 to see a doctor and got charged $25 so that’s cool. Waste of my time Never coming back again!

Don’t go during Covid lockdown. They are so obsessed with their protocols that you will be an absolute inconvenience.
The doctor was ok but also not particularly fussed. The lady at the medicine dispensary is the exception. Super kind, friendly and helpful.
