A permanent water fountain sculpture that's an ingrained part of the Wellington waterfront.

An iconic feature of the Wellington Waterfront landscape this modern sculpture by Tanya Ashken is one of the popular attractions for visitors to Wellington and is located in-between Frank Kitts Park and the Whairepo Lagoon. The organic sculpture is symbolic of the albatross, Wellington's rolling hills and its ocean connections. The creation of this sculpture and the process involved with its funding spearheaded the movement to form a Wellington Sculpture Trust which in turn spawned a public sculpture renaissance in its wake. So the AF has not only aesthetic (high artistic value) but cultural heritage, social and historical significance as well.
