★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the highlights of visiting family in Wellington is getting to breakfast inside California Garden Centre in Fairfield. Thus time around their resident cafe has rebranded to The Glasshouse and the service was lovely like before.
I thoroughly enjoyed my scrambled Eggs Benedict with bacon with a soy latte and oat plum crumble. The ambiance is relaxing and chilled and it’s a beautiful place to past the morning by. Highly recommended!

Set inside the California garden centre this makes it even more interesting.
There is plenty of parking so no need to worry about finding a park.
There is a wide variety of food and beverages to choose from and the staff are very accommodating.
If you want to go somewhere laid back with the option of a bit of garden shopping or homeware this is the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered sourdough crumpets and fresh fruit.The fruit was certainly not fresh. Very metallic tasting. Tin strawberries etc . I was very disappointed. I would of thought the fruit would of been from the nice looking fruit bowl in the cabinet. Been there a number of times. Always been good . Won't be going back anytime soon

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed. Ordered poached eggs on toast with mushrooms on the side and it came with ONE mushroom. People with me ordered eggs on toast with different sides and it came at least 2 pieces (like hash browns). As their order arrived before mine and it was quite well served I also expected mine to be similar. When I asked if it was really just one mushroom as a side the staff said that yes it is. I paid extra $4 dollars for the side and although I didn't expect a huge amount I thought I would get more than ONE mushroom. The paper they wrote the orders down came inside my plate and it had been touched by at least two different people. Won't bother coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were visiting family in Wellington. They suggested somewhere we had not been before for food and plants/home bits (California/Glasshouse Cafe). We had a fantastic feed. Social Distancingg seems to have been taken on seriously by all customers; the business aided this with markers and sanitisers etc... anyway back to the food.... I have photos (please observe. My usual test is the 'empty plate' test... The Glasshouse Cafe passes with flying colours. excellent access and parking too (onsite)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good food and drinks in general with a few exceptional flavours.
I've been seated inside and outside in winter and summer and I've enjoyed all my visits - +1 for the glasshouse.
The experience has been very similar whether the cafe is half or completely full. But there are definite opportunities to improve - more consistent cordiality, hotter drinks and food, staff offering water at tables. I've rated 5-stars because Covid restrictions have been handled well in this busy venue.
