Good selection of cabinet food, but painfully slow service. The salad portions weren't very generous either, usually the tubs are crammed full, but the large I ordered felt more like a small. It did taste good which is the main thing, but for a $13 salad I'd expect more.

Longtime Hutt Hospital-area favorite for fresh and delicious breakfasts and lunches- along with cakes and pastries.

The worst food I have ever had. The pancake was so hard, and the big breakfast was giant disappointment bacon was not cooked, they'll mushroom was so tasteless, and when you asked for a thoroughly boiled egg, they would give half fried eggs. Wow, what an excellent service you are getting. paid 75$for family breakfast out of the waste of money Some good things to say Coffee is delicious Sandwiches we're perfect ?

An amazing experience for a delicious brunch with friends. Very reasonable prices especially for the meal size. Don't wait to be served- pop to the counter and order a mouthwatering brunch. Lots to choose from. ??

I have enjoyed dining at Janus Bakkerij in the past however during a recent visit I felt like we were a nuisance being there. The kitchen was closed and there was very little food in the display cabinets left. The staff were not at all friendly and when my companion dared to complain about her coffee being bitter, the young barrister said "what do you want me to do about it". I won't be rushing back for another experience like this, very disappointing. Helpful, friendly staff at the crux of a business like this.

"Taking advantage of the Lower hutt community" We seated ourselves in Janus to choose from the complete menu and then ordered at the counter. We ordered the $19 'Hash Stack' - Crispy hash Browns stacked and served with fresh spinach and tomato with a poached egg and drizzled in hollandaise sauce. What we received was 2 single slices of tomato minus the flesh, and baby spinach from the bag at your local countdown between a well cooked single egg and 3 hash Browns, far too many to eat with a single egg. Janus is taking advantage of the lower hutt community by charging exorbitant prices for sub-par meals. At the very least, pan fry half a tomato and give the paying customer 2 whole eggs. We will never be returning to Janus Cafe but we may return to the bakery which has far better food on the counter and OK coffee. GB~

Large flat white comes with 4 shots (very yum!), And the hash stack does come with more tomato's but I passed them on to my partner, but very yum! Large hash browns, fresh ingredients. Chips were great, service was wonderful! Nice & easy :)

A promising environment let down by average fare. I really appreciated the well designed decor on my first visit to Janus and the coffee looked enticing however that’s where the positives ended. My mocha was an undrinkable combination of bitter burnt coffee and sickly sweet syrup. The corn and vege fritters were dry and tasteless and the accompanying salad was drizzled in another sweet syrupy sauce. The only thing I could finish was the kranskies purloined from my partner’s plate
