Very welcoming owner and service.
If you want authentic Italian pizza this is the place. I would definitely come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately there was no tomato sauce on my pizza that's why I give 1 star less, it's nothing written on the menu ? I rang them straight away and they said it comes without sauce. I added my own sauce, better to double check other than that the pizza was good ? might come back.
Update, I've been there a few times now and the pizza is very good ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We absolutely love The Hood. Hands down the best food in the bays and arguably some of the best in Auckland. Family owned team hold this amazing spot down with wood fired Napolitana pizza and incredible dishes. Must try scallops, aroncini, eggplant, I mean seriously it's all stunning. This is our go to every night we eat out. Don't listen to the mud complaints from others, the proof is in the pudding (which is also fantastic!!).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We hadn't made a reservation but were seated outside in the courtyard at 7pm. We were served drinks in the first half hour but after an hour of waiting hadn't been served for any food. I got up to ask the staff and caught them on the way to our table. After being served it was another 30min wait for the starter and 30min again for the first main. 20mins later the second main was served. The food was okay, but the wait was very long. We took our dessert to go as it was already 9.30pm by the time it was ready.
The service was absolutely lovely, the staff were all very polite and apologetic but the wait for what we received was terrible. I overheard the staff saying it was due to lots of takeaway orders. I understand its a very difficult time for the hospitality industry but I felt like the customers inside were forgotten about.
I would love to try this place again as I had such high hopes going in but would love to see the wait times cut down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We made a reservation for my friends birthday tonight. We were so excited because we heard such great things... and the food might be great, but we will never know. After ordering we waited for 60 minutes before asking staff what the wait was for. The order had never made it to the kitchen. They did offer to take new orders but the kitchen had already closed so we decided to leave. The staff were nice but it was a really disappointing night.
