A MILK STATION TRANSFORMED
The Otaki Milk Station on the Kapiti Coast is a superb historical venue. Just an hour north of Wellington, it’s a world away.
The Station’s history and stories are draped in contemporary character and inspired design. Built in 1919, many of its original features remain. Its rustic charm is perfect if you want a wedding venue, conference venue, or event venue with a difference. It is now a Historic Places Trust Grade II recognised building.
The recent renovation is influenced by early Italian architects and a vision. Original exposed riveted steel beams blended with fine art from Europe; four acres of stunning gardens against a quiet background of Tararua Ranges – each corner, paving square and black iron chandelier has been thoughtfully chosen.

INSPIRATION AND CREATION
Owner and restorer Lyndia Wood has given 12 years of inspiration and dedication to create this historical venue and magical place. She was inspired by the Paris Railway Station and love of Italianate style.
Lyndia has a background in antiques and restoration. Her attention to detail and unbridled drive to see The Milk Station restored has created a world class venue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know where to begin! With Norbert, I think, as he is the most perfect caretaker for this magnificent spot. His caring and attention to detail were second to none. With beautiful Bella dog at his side they were everywhere checking that everything was perfect, but never imposing on my sister's special day.
And what a special day it was! The Milk Station is a breathtaking venue that makes you feel more like you're in Tuscany or the south of France than Otaki! There is something simply magical about all of the buildings and grounds that you can feel in your soul.
As a wedding venue, it couldn't have been more perfect!
And I haven't even started on the accommodation! Modern and comfortable doesn't even cut it! To fall into bed in one of those rooms after a day you already thought was perfect was a whole new level of happiness!

The place was lovely but the guy who showed my partner and I around didn't really seem that enthusiastic to get us on board. It was our shortest viewing out of the 4 or 5 that we saw. Other venues were keen to know what our theme might be and what we pictured the day being like, but we didn't get any of that here. Beautiful architecture though.
