β β β β β I love the adventure of finding second hand books to read... These stores are rare now so it's like finding treasure when you discover them and you walk out with a book or 3. Highly recommended by me. (If they sold coffee I'd never leave)
P. S donate your books to them if you have too many. I'm always looking for vintage Dinosaur books and encyclopedias.

β β β β β Without a doubt this is Ponsonby's most hidden gem. The Open Book may look unassuming from the outside but as soon as you enter, you're treated to a tranquil haven, especially if you're a book lover.
There's 7 rooms lined with books of every genre, chairs to get comfy in, and free coffee to keep your mind sharp. My personal favorite however is the sunny backyard garden with beanbags; nothing quite like reading a good book in the sun's warmth.

β β β β β Quite a gem in this part of Ponsonby. If you love books, head on to this place! And since it's along Ponsonby road, once you get hungry there are heaps of cafes and restos to eat.
