About The Vineyard Cafe
Margrain Vineyard wants to share with you their love of Martinborough, winemaking and of course, their wine!
Visit some of the oldest vines in the region, explore the first winery in Martinborough (now converted to The Vineyard Cafe), see the winemaking process - all while tasting Margrain's fine wines.
We take you through the vine to wine process and the history of Martinborough winemaking, tasting as you go. Commencing at the Cellar Door/Cafe and taking you through the ‘Chifney’ and ‘Home Block’ vineyard blocks, visiting our boutique winery and finishing in the barrel rooms.
Tours are available Tuesday to Saturday, 11.30am-12.30pm
(Other times available for groups of 10 or more)
$35.00 per person
Tour and Platter Package - $49.00 per person - following your tour enjoy a vineyard platter at The Vineyard Cafe

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice setting shame about the service. It's split into two sides - a tasting side and a cafe side. We went to sit on the tasting side and were offered a 30 min tasting. One of our group wasn't drinking so asked for the non alcoholic options which we were told were 'none'. We're then told to go next door to the cafe. When we went there were told they weren't open anymore, despite being directed by their own staff member. Told the wine is nice but sadly due to the customer service never got to find out. I wonder if being on 'the route' gives places a sense of entitlement that people will stop here no matter what but there's plenty of other places to go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Note that the closing time is the time you're expected to have paid up and left- it's not last orders as in other places. Staff didn't explain, just said they shut at 4 and refused to take an order, even just for drinks despite it being earlier than 4. When we asked if they knew of anywhere that may be open, they were dismissive and said not to trust Google. I've enjoyed every other time I've been here, however service was lacking this time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Part of the Margrain group. Went for brunch and wow what a location. Seated looking out over the vineyard, just peaceful. Food was excellent and service great. Had the French toast and the bacon was so good. Make a point of going. You will enjoy!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came by for a quick drink and wine flight. Nice outside and pretty vineyard view but service was nonexistent after we ordered. Drinks arrived and servers didn’t stop by again. After finishing them and waiting for a bit, we decided to just pay and leave.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All vaxxed up . Called in for a wine tasting , 1box, 5 bottles and a platter for 2 washed down with a , you guessed it , wine. The owner gave us permission to park overnight on his road verge . A family owned and run business was very professional .
