Great concept! Cheese and wine tasting. Haven’t seen anything like this before except for in David Jones. It is very easy to rack up a bill on your card though so be aware. Very tasty cheese boards especially the blue cheese with honeycomb YUM!

Good place to try a variety of wines without worrying about how to get home (if you are staying in town that is). They'll give you a card which will start a tab you can pay at the end. Fun experience where you can try a variety of brands

The wine tasting here is grossly over-priced ($5+ for a sip) but it’s not a bad spot if you want to try a lot of NZ South Island wines in one place. The platters are excellent and plentiful, they generously gave us more bread and olive oil when we ran out which we appreciated. There are better platters in town elsewhere though where you can also get a bottle of wine and not pay corkage. When I was surprised there was corkage at this place the salesperson kindly shared its really a retail store and not a restaurant. Bit confusing concept, honestly, you can do the same in Italy and not pay an arm and leg for it though I do understand this is not Italy :)

I'm such a drunkard. Everywhere I go in New Zealand, I'd always look for winery, restaurant that serves wine. Heck I even visit bottle shop in each and every town that I stopped by to purchase wines to drink at night, at the comfort of our accommodation. As a matter of fact, I couldn't recall the day which I didnt touch wine at all. In Queenstown where I spent the longest time was no exception. So I googled around and The Winery popped out in the search. We settled the kids' dinner earlier and then dragged them to our intended destination. They were protesting but we insisted and we even offered sweet deals to keep them quiet. The sights of hundreds (if not thousands) of wine bottles made us excited. β—Ύfor starter, they will give you a card which you have to use to purchase a glass of wine. All you have to do is to insert the card into the wine dispenser machines, which by the way, are all around the outlet. Price varies depending on the type of wine and volume that you choose. β—ΎThe small ones were so eager to help to press for me, or perhaps they found it fascinating to see this kind of technology for the first time. β—ΎNo wine experience is completed without food hence the assorted cold cut, cheese, bread and cracker platter that also comes with pickles, and dried fruits. It's platter for two but the sheer size of it could easily feed 3-4. They do have tables outside the premise should you want to drink and eat alfresco style but it was beginning of winter so I got cosy hanging out inside the premise itself. Of course they do sell wines by bottles if you have particular preference but to me, I had fun trying many types of wines which I do not normally see in Malaysia.

Had an amazing afternoon at The Winery back in June as a group of 14. Chris was friendly, informative and effervescent, telling us all about the wines and putting up with our terrible banter. Fantastic selection of wines, with the added bonus of spirits and other options for the non-wine drinkers. Added bonus of the bar next door for when you've had plenty of wine and your palate has lost its sophistication. Would highly recommend.

We were looking for a relaxed location with a good selection of beverages and something big but not overly substantial to tuck away at, this place did not disappoint. Great selection of wines and whiskeys, small array of beers and solid cheeseboard offerings to accompany all of them.

Wow!! What an experience! If you love wine, this is the place to go if you don't have time to visit the vineyards. We did a gin tasting as well and it was an absolutely ? experience!!

My cousin and I went here on our last day in Queenstown. It wasn't planned but we were quite chuffed with our find. They were clearly short staffed on this day (one poor soul to hold the fort) but he tried his best to be attentive and we got our gin tasting paddles in a timely fashion and were left to it. We were totally fine with this and would go back for sure. I quite enjoyed the gin-ternational explorer paddle (flight #4) as there were some gins that I didn't think would float my boat but they did indeed. Perhaps we'll do wine tasting in addition to tasting gin on the next visit (there's an idea!). Tasting responsibly of course. The wine is literally on tap but note that it isn't a free tap! I need a location at the airport too methinks...
