AMAZING food, exactly what we've been looking for. Service was also great, Claire was very friendly and attentive. Great price for the quality of food, drinks and service(looking at you white and wongs). Also great location its just near the lake, its a good place to eat at during a sunny afternoon. Would definitely recommend. Overall good experience and we will be back again. :)

Ordered typical Malaysian food, taste wise is Ok. However the fried anchovies are hard and not crunchy.

Craving for Rendang on a cold, rainy day. Happy to find this place in Queenstown. The place is cozy and spacious, and I really appreciate that they observe ample distancing between tables. The staff are friendly and polite. I haven’t tried Nasi Lemak so I went for it (you can choose to add beef rendang or chicken) to the dish. Also ordered egg tarts for dessert. Not exactly like the Portuguese egg tarts I had in Macau but it was delicious. ? Will come back and try the laksa next time.

Food was delicious and came out quickly. Staff were friendly informative. Honey soy squid is a must. Wasn't informed about the $10 fee for sparking water whem asked what we would like between that and tap water. Otherwise, the cocktails were full of flavour ?

For a restaurant that markets its specialties to be Malaysian/Singaporean food, I was sorely disappointed by the laksa which is unlike any kind of laksa I’ve eaten in Singapore (where Im from) or Malaysia. The bowl (with no meat additions) came with yellow noodles, one half of a hard boiled egg, shallots, a handful of cooked bokchoy, 3 small deep fried tofu squares, some raw bean sprouts, and coriander garnish. The soup was more milky sweet than spicy. The noodles were also slightly hard and not cooked fully. Laksa is a dish that varies in taste even between Singapore and Malaysia, and I understand there are local flavours depending on where you go, but I expected Madam Woo to at least serve a laksa that more closely resembles what it claims to authentically represent. When I was asked how the food was and replied that it was something I didn’t expect, as it was very different from what I’ve eaten in Singapore, the response was that the food is tailored to New Zealand taste and it was β€˜made for everyone’. In that case then it would be good for the menu to say that the dishes have been modified to suit the local taste. When a dish is made true to its origins, is that not something everyone can enjoy too? I’ve eaten laksa from 3 different restaurants in the Queenstown region alone that were as different as night and day, so who’s to say what the β€˜local’ taste is? Despite the food falling below expectations, the ambience was fantastic, music was great and the place was sparkling clean. I would come again, but not for the laksa. *UPDATE* I went back a second time and tried the char kway teow - this didn’t disappoint. It was less greasy than what I’m used to in Singapore (not complaining about this), and there was a balance of flavour in the sauces used with the eggs, shallots, bean sprouts and spring onions, with a generous helping of Chinese sausages. This had prawns instead of the usual clams and it’s still good.

A great place for Asian fusion food. All the food we ordered were very tasty. The service was great. I especially recommend the squid dish. The Hawker Roll with duck was also amazing. I also love their decoration and vibe. Definitely make a reservation as they are very popular.

Great dinner at Madam Woo in Queenstown. Our favourite dish was the Malaysian slaw with duck followed by the wok fried Asian greens. The Portuguese custard tarts are also delicious.

Had a quick lunch while wandering around the city. Happy, attentive and friendly service. The food was served pretty quickly. Small portions but the food tasted very good. The place looks quite busy …. the seating is quite congested.
