★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely character cafe with excellent food and service. I had the Beef cheek pie and Red velvet cake, delicious. I gobbled down the rough cut chips and the salad wasn't bad also. Helpful staff, great coffee, although my pet peeve is not serving a flat white in a tulip! I can forgive them due to the nice atmosphere and the art - I loved the Ena Sharples works! I'd go again if in Whanganui, absolutely.

Well priced, friendly staff,will recommend to our guests as a must place to visit

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well worth a visit, such a picturesque slice of local history. 100yards x 7ft wide x 8ft dug out by hand from sandstone hill by 3 guys with picks & shovels, for stock and gear movement between sea and land. This is tunnel at coast near Wakawau on road to Marukopa, NOT the Yellow House Cafe in Whanganui!
