15 ground-floor units, serviced daily: 6 studios sleep 1-3 with tea/coffee-making facilities; 6 studio/kitchen units sleep 1-3; 3 x 1-bedroom family units sleep 2-6. All units have a microwave, hairdryer, phone, WiFi internet access, Sky TV channels, electric blankets, iron/ironing board; most units with queen-size beds. Cot, highchair and laundry available.
Directions: Coming down SH 4 from Hamilton, when you come to a roundabout, cross the river at the first bridge and you are there. From Bulls turn off onto SH 4 before you get into town and come up the river until you come to a roundabout where you cross the river. Coming from New Plymouth come down the main street to the 2nd traffic lights, turn to the left towards the river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very easy to find for non-locals. Very good rates - for a reason. Our unit (8) was clean and well-presented, but the "utilities" were well-worn. The bathroom in particular needed repair. My bed was saggy and lumpy. The place seems to be in the process of a gradual upgrade - and needs it. Beautiful setting. Good service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WINZ transitional housing clients in the units alongside mine. I had no problem with that in principle but asked the owner if they were reasonably quiet. He assured me they were. However,that night they had a massive loud fight,with lots of hard-core swearing,screaming & yelling. Cars also coming & going. Was very scary.Also,there was no hot water to the bathroom basin so didnt bother trying the shower. Would NOT recommend this as a place to stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Although this motel is dated it was very clean and a great price. The room was big and we had a full size cooker. The shower was very hot and had great water pressure. We enjoyed our stay, sleeping well and enjoyed being next to the river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly owners. Spacious clean room and shower with soft towels. Yes its a bit dated but everything was super clean and neat and we had flat screen TV with lots of Sky channels. A very pleasant place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delighted to have discovered this motel. Easy to find, easy parking, somewhere to park the trailer, friendly staff and spacious grounds. Our unit was spotless and had everything we needed. Full SKY so we could get the radio as well as our favourite TV channels. But best of all was the air con. It was a hot night but we slept really well because of the air con. No hesitation in recommending this motel. VERY good value for money we thought.
