I persevered going to Thrive for nearly 2 year - spending many $1000s of dollars but have decided in 2020 to never go back for the following reasons: class options changed significantly due to staffing issues and there are insufficient intermediate classes in the morning; parking is impossible at any other time, the $290 monthly fee is not good value compared with top gym options such as Habit, plus they charge a $20 fee if you are unable to attend a booked class. There are no showers, the yoga studio side is too small for the six people that are squashed in there, there's never enough yoga equipment, class attendees are expected to clean the reformers and mats after class which means in general everything is a bit grubby - including the communal kitchen area. The final straw was the behaviour of the owner towards a yoga part-time teacher who left to open her own studio - after giving heaps of notice. On Facebook Thrive's owner publicly shamed a yoga teacher who posted a back bend photo, stating she knew this person had been off work twice in the last year with back issues and that this was an example of unsafe training. After being called out privately on the issue she claimed it was not targeted at her ex-teacher (who had posted a photo like this and who had been off once, not twice, in the past year). As her casual employer she was well aware this person had been off work with back issues. The lack of being honest and clarifying who the post was about added to the situation. All very sad as the ex-teacher is not even in direct competition to her and I loved some of my time there.

I would recommend Thrive to anyone! I’ve always felt so welcomed and the staff are super professional. Anna, the owner, has always been quick to respond and always tries her hardest to help with any needs/questions. One of the perks is it’s right in the middle of the city which makes a convenient lunch time trip, nice to get out of the office and find those abs! If you want to tone up and find those abs, I would 100% recommend giving Thrive a go - you won’t regret it!

Just love the atmosphere of Thrive Pilates : the professional instructors who monitor you closely, small group classes, the studio is clean, fresh and light and there's a variety of classes and class sessions are varied which makes it fun. Class times work well for us working clients. Heaps to love about Thrive. Go Anna, Arnel and team.

I first came to Thrive in order to realign my body after years of boxing had thrown it off point. The central location was ideal, as its an convenient 10min walk from anywhere in the CBD and the class times are varied, so training can easily slot into however my work schedule changes from day to day. The instructors were instantly welcoming and trust worthy, as I was made to feel at ease and safe pushing my body to limits it hadn't experienced before. Thrive has helped me find new strengths and range of motion, and I feel more balanced than ever before. .

I have been going to Thrive for about a month now and have just started doing 1-1 sessions with Laura and Anna to help me build my confidence and strength back. It has been such an awesome experience so far. The place is always so clean, staff are friendly and super encouraging and supportive towards my growth. I feel so grateful that I found thrive and I cannot wait to see myself become even stronger and a reformer pro like the lovely ladies there!

I have been attending both group and one-on-one classes at a Thrive, for several months now. It has been my first reformer Pilates experience, and being a newbie, I was very nervous about the environment I was entering. The staff at Thrive have been very welcoming, and Fi in particular is brilliant. She is very attentive, hands-on, and encouraging. She has instilled a love of Pilates in me, and encouraged me to challenge my body’s capabilities. The equipment is in great shape, the place is bright and clean, and classes run on time!

Really great modern studio in central Petone, it has an amazing feel. The instructor made me feel so welcome for my first class as I had not done before. She really knows her stuff and was so helpful even spending a little extra time with me at the end. I recommend checking this place out!
