I would like to thank all those who have helped us with love and support. In particular, we wish to express our deepest gratitude to Francis and Kaiora along with the Waitakere Funeral Services’ whānau for making us feel at ease with the entire process and caring for us when we needed it most. Thank you!

I have not yet had the pleasure of ceasing to live and then having final rites administered by this exceptional funeral home, but I have seen every episode of the enchanting “Casketeers” on Netflix and am quite determined to make acquaintance with these outstanding individuals as soon as possible—once this cursed COVID19 pandemic is resolved!

Glad other people find this place good because my family didn't. My brother was shot in the Darwin shooting an our family was under tremendous stress to bring him home, we could have done with a phone call just to remind us of final arrangements and on top of this they blamed me for lack of communication with them who's the (Funeral directors) very unprofessional

my brother was one of the four shooting victims in Darwin June 4th 2019, his body arrived home to New Zealand June 17 after much agonising and stress by myself and my husband we were in Darwin sorting everything amid the horror of it all to get my brother home and give him the burial he deserved while the whanau in NZ did all they could too get things sorted on their end, that Monday night and the days following family members starting arriving to show their respects and offer condolences, we were all shocked by what had happened to our loved one getting him home was the hardest part and we'd like to thank Tipene for being there to receive him, however the following day Tuesday 18th things started to sour 11am we arranged a viewing many family members were arriving and I know we were told not to park in certain parts of the carpark as it belonged to other businesses it was very hard to pass this on too everyone due to the volume of whanau turning up and unfortunately some parked in these no parking areas, after about and hour and while we are all grieving quietly Stan Neho enters and yells at everyone very rudely 'too move your dam cars or they will be towed" it gave everyone a fright and was totally uncalled for a proper level of professionalism would of required merely getting our attention explaining the situation and asking that the cars be moved promptly or they may be towed, I was not impressed at all and felt embarrassed for all our whanau. We let it pass. Friday 21st due too a lack of communication between staff at Tipene and the family a sleep over at the home was not arranged as planned, it caused massive stress as we had already put it out there to all whanau that we were going to do this and then at short notice had to advise everyone this was no longer happening which was a huge inconvenience for some. At about 7pm a meeting was called at Tipene Funeral Home, by the time I arrived there was quite alot of whanau there, then Im advised by my Aunt and cousins that when Stan Neho arrived he ripped into everyone and was absolutely rude my Aunt was disgusted with his behaviour and the way yelled and swore at everyone, at this point I was really angry but upon entering the room to talk with Lori, Denise and Stan I decided it just wasn't worth arguing, we were grieving, certain things they informed us of as their procedure was really quite disturbing, we are just common people we have no idea how things are done and input would of been absolutely appreciated, the point is there was no need for the kind of unprofessional behaviour Stan displayed and again I was embarrassed for my family members, all this could of been avoided if Tipene just communicated with my sister and understood that we were not going through a normal funeral process our brother was horrifically murdered and some things were lost in the mess and stress of it all. We sorted it that night and had the service Saturday 22nd it went well except for the end when while the memorial video was playing Tipene had their own music over riding ours. Then as a final insult Tipene funeral Home accepted and over payment from Northern Territory victims of crime compensation and refused to pass the over-payment on to the family stating it as extra costs, it is my sincerest hope that no other family experiences what we did, Im sure no ill will was meant by Tipene, my advice is too be professional, considerate and sincere, I know yous do this everyday/week, but families dont. We personally will not refer or use Tipene Funeral Home again.

Can not recommend Tipene Funerals highly enough. They treated our loved one who had passed with such respect & dignity. They also helped us deal with everything at such an upsetting time. Everything from day 1 went off without a hitch. All the staff are lovely. Thank you so much guys. Much respect from Angie McNeill.

Attended a funeral on 22nd February at Henderson. Funeral director appeared disinterested, diffident, sauntering about, disappeared from the room leaving adjoining doors open. Huge amount of machinery noise from adjoining factory? It was time to close the casket, funeral director had to be searched for, finally appeared. Then casket was carried out through the loading bay, which made no pretence of being anything else! To one side were 3 large green rubbish bins. As a funeral celebrant, who has officiated or attended many funerals, this was the most appalling situation I have ever encountered. unprofessional
