About Toroa Driving School
Toroa Driving School is independently owned and operated by Felicity, an NZTA approved driving instructor based in Ōtaki, where she lives with her partner, two dogs, a cat, and nine sheep.
Felicity holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, and is a mum to two young adults. While teaching them each to drive, she discovered she had a knack for helping inexperienced and anxious drivers feel safe and confident behind the wheel.
And so, she traded in the corporate world, turned her car purple, and established Toroa.

I had a horrible experience with a careless Lady who broke my confidence to 0. Felicity used patience, humour and empathy to make driving a nice experience. I pass with only 3 lessons with her ! Couldn’t recommend better ?

I failed the first test and she encouraged me to book right away and she really helped me believe in myself and I got my restricted on the second try with no errors! I definitely recommend her!

Her marking for driving is excellent and explains after class so it becomes helpful to improve our driving and boost confidence. She is a patient, calm and supportive instructor who always goes out of her way to accomodate her clients in different learning styles, while actually caring about the person behind the wheel. For me Felicity always made me feel comfortable and safe when driving as she is so friendly and empathetic. When I first started with her I was an anxious driver who really struggled with concentration. After working with Felicity I am now a confident driver who just got my Restricted Licence (on my first try) which I never thought I would do, all thanks to Felicity and her supportive nature and environment I really grew in both my driving and as a person ?.
