★ ★ ★ ★ ★ when returning a faulty product the staff refused to fulfill their obligations according to the consumer guarantees act, to either give a refund or replace the item in a timely manner. It was only after persistence from the customer did they reluctantly ring head office to get permission to give the customer a refund.

Not that helpful at Torpedo7 Palmerston North. I waited at the counter to be served, while the 2 assistants were talking. Decided to keep browsing, after all their convo was more important than their costumer. Maybe if I had of worn my good shoes?? Hmm
Also took my awesome new giant in for a service, it came out worse than when it went in. It's ok though, You Tube helped me out with getting back on track. I would have taken it back to the shop, but, the 3 week wait?? Hmm
Overall, good product and well priced but not sure ill go back there again. Might spend my $2.50 pocket money somewhere else. Can't say the other bike shops were much friendlier. except the new Evo shop.. Yep, thats me!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ March2022: what a turnaround. Welcomed by staff member while I was scanning in. Asked me what I was looking foe, then actually escorted me to both areas and talked about both products.
2021:Alot of staff around the front of store. 1 helping a customer. No one else around. Spent 15mins looking in department. I ended up doing my own homework on these expensive tramping boots, but choosing to go elsewhere .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had the worst shopping experience in this store, as soon as I walked in the student staff ogle you and pest you for a sale, when asking for advice on a product I was avoided by the obviously unknowledgeable staff. Once I approached the counter to make my purchase I was met by a cashier that was trying to beat the world speed talking record, completely non understanding anything she said I asked her three times to repeat herself before I gave up, producing my services card I received a minuscule discount of $4 on a purchase item exceeding $190 which I found to be more of a joke than appreciation for the work we do for the country.
I will be avoiding this store and the entire chain while directing workmates to spend their money at stores that actually respect the defence forces police, nurses, paramedics and deliver better shopping experiences like Macpac

He was friendly and helpful, as were other staff at the counter whose comments regarding their experience with the product were reassuring. I will definitely be back for future camping requirements.
