About Turangi Marine
Turangi Marine Limited is located just off State Highway 1, Atirau Road, Turangi - a hop skip and jump from Lake Taupo. The business is owned and managed by Craig and Pauline Lyons who are locals and take pride in supporting the Southern Lake Taupo and Tongariro communities. Together we have over 30 years’ of experience in the marine industry, with Craig being involved as a skipper in the local Coastguard Unit for over 20 years. We get to know our customer’s on a first name basis and share in their family boating and sporting achievements. Pauline’s past life as a planner at the Department of Conservation means that Turangi Marine operates as “green” as we possibly can. We know from experience which products are best for different applications or stages of life, having trialled them with our own family and friends. It is important to us that we create great experiences for our customers, while minimising the impact on the environment (refer to Servicing for further information.
Turangi Marine has a large showroom boasting a wide range of products from outboards to boat packages and marine safety equipment to water sports accessories. We are authorised dealers for Buccaneer and Mac Hulls, and Yamaha outboards. We stock popular and reliable marine accessories including but not limited to Hutchwilco, Obrien, Fusion, Trojan, Mercury and Johnson and Evinrude brands. We offer customers the best products and service, developing a history and relationship past the deposit of your cheque. If you are looking for reliable used freshwater boats, then come and check out our range. We back our used boats with the Consumer Guarantee’s Act Warranty and have hundreds of happy clients. We stand behind every boating sale, and if you are not happy we will do our best to put things right.
The company has an association with 5 boat storage yards in Turangi - our central location means it is a great place to store a boat. These relationships allow us to access your boat easily and service it without you needing to leave home. All you need to do is let us know when you will need to use it and we will ensure it is ready for you when you arrive.

The boat was ex USA and they went to a lot of trouble on our behalf finding boat builders and electricians able to convert her to 240 V. Both Craig and Pauline are very knowledgeable and accessible. Had the regular requirements done plus an extensive list of extras I wanted done as it was my first service after buying the boat second hand. I was super impressed with the work carried out and the standard to which it was done. I have found since the service there were other things done which they rectified while working on something that I had asked for. This is outstanding and shows the care and pride in their work and looking after you as the customer. Well done.
