Our talented chefs invite you to indulge in the dishes that have inspired our New Zealand and Mediterranean influenced menus. Our extensive tapas menu is designed to be shared, and we also offer a full a-la-carte menu for those wanting a more NZ traditional approach to dining.
We offer fabulous Coffee by Allpress Espresso, and Harney & Son’s Teas. Our full bar specializes in whisky, craft beer, and a huge wine selection reflecting over 25 years in hospitality.
There are many spaces to enjoy; sit around the fireplace, a variety of table and booth settings indoors and out, or for groups of ten or more there’s our private rooms upstairs – “The Balcony” and “The Vintage Room”.
Specializing in “Long Table Shared Plate Functions”, Vine Eatery & Bar is the perfect place for larger groups who are looking for something a little different and entertaining. For this we offer affordable shared plate menus from $65 or full tapa experiences from $55 per person. All options may include dessert and can be matched with some great beverages. For more casual gatherings we have amazing canapés and platters full of fresh delicious meats, seafood and local produce.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fully booked but they squeezed us onto a bar table. We stayed all night for cocktails, dinner and cheese board. The staff were attentive, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Went out of their way to ensure we had a great night. Faultless.

Came in at 4:00 pm. Walked in the resto,was pleased,it was very nice and has a good atmosphere. Then IT happened,the lady server. Not a smile,not even a greeting.have to say hi to her and ask for a table. She then asked if we have a reservation,said no. Then she said okay,starts looking at her pad, she said she can sit us by the front and then told us they have bookings coming at 7:00pm. Like, in my mind its only 4:00pm. She then showed us to the table, then explained the specials of the day. NO SMILE NOTHING.
At this stage was already feeling unwelcomed personally felt being attacked coz maybe we're not her usual " type" of customers.
Luckily, an older gentleman was the who saved the night. He served our table all throughout and we never had that xenophobic feeling from him.
I am not writing this review just to make that lady staff horrible. I work in the same industry,maybe she having a bad day or shes tired, all reasons. Still, she should never make her guests unwelcome.
P.S. it was my birthday,a very memorable one at that.??

I had the venison, my partner had the duck and we shared a side dish of beautiful whole baby carrots in truffle butter. Both meats were really tender and so tasty. Then the manager (I think) went out of his way and googled how to make a South African Don Pedro alcoholic dessert drink for me when I asked if they serve it. It was such a lovely thing to do and such a great effort and service to do this for a customer. He also got one his staff to fix the annoying constant beeping of the automated slidey doors to the restaurant. Awesome stylish, artistic interior decor too. Highly recommended.

They, like us, had never eaten dinner at The Vines, but once in Annette’s capable hands we had a fabulous evening of wining, dining and cocktails, followed by some equally especial desserts. What a fantastic night. We will definitely be back.
Probably the most I have ever spent dining out, but considering the fantastic food, atmosphere and drink choices, it was a bargain at twice the price. The pressed copper sink in the ladies room is also spectacular.
