★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Toilets not cleaned mind you this is during the the xmas holiday season and rubbish bags filled and left next to the refuse bins which are over filled. Highly recommend to either book into an holiday camp where there is a camping ground located in Waharau regional park but as for Waharau on the beach front can be over crowded this is the unclean toilets section.

Or go swimming across the road at the beach
Lots of information about the Kauri die back
So please use the facilities to clean your shoes and paws
Bbqs are there also for the public
Toilets and disability toilet also available

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for a family picnic there's Electric bbqs, picnic tables & restrooms all around the park. There's a few bush walks & hikes if you're into that sort of stuff. Nice place to relax.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ STILL OPEN DURING LOCKDOWN!! But you have to come from the north not the south… border patrols in place if you’re coming from Waikato side…. It’s a Beautiful place to visit and it’s a really peaceful quiet place! Toilets are at the beginning and there are three tracks: green and purple which are small tracks and red being the longest… you can definitely spend the whole day here! And the drive there is beautiful!
