★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Completed booking online,couldn't find exactly where to go.Then to be told by park ranger (Hamish) that I couldn't stay at camp site.I then get referred to stay at the tribal area of the camping grounds with all my own coloured people whom by the way were very helpful and kind enough to give me one of there tents to stay in.If your Maori etc consider not going there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent campsite for any vehicle type, park right next to a flowing river and fall asleep to the relaxing sound of water. Has benches, water tap, a drop toilet and waste/recycling bins.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place..Amazing location.. great for overnight camping. Pics are of the location we set our tent. Very peaceful and quiet. Hassle free online booking and secured access.
Lot of open space around. Very clean, well maintained toilets. Also has 3-4 water taps set up- nearby. (ps- pls read instructions of use before consumption of water). Pls ensure to carry insect repellent if you plan to stay near stream. Overall great experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful spot. We loved walking the ridge track and cooling off in the creek. Toilets needed more regular maintenance. The women's long-drops were particularly full of flies, which was very unpleasant, and the tap for the sink was difficult to use as you have to hold the tap down with one hand while you wash the other.

Pros
- Non powered site so on cloudless night, sky is full of stars!!
- Water stream! You can keep walking, playing, sitting beside it for infinite time.
- Awesome walking trails!!
- If you wish, walk down to lovely beach!!
- Kids have enough fun being surrounded by Sheep/Cows/Eels/Rabbits
Cons
On the busiest time of Xmas, grass wasn’t mowed and even after using insect repellent, everybody was easy target. Big disappointment. But guess, they had genuine reason and this could be one of incident.
