★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Must be one of the best gardens in New Zealand. Recommend seeing in November when rhododendrons are flowering. Great views of lake Taupo and Mt Ruapehu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Waipahihi Botanical Reserve is a beautiful garden or better park throughout the season. Best time to see the flowers is in the spring offcourse. In May 2018 we saw still a lot of blooming camellias which is one of the biggest collections ever. The fern diversity was also very special. I would definitely come back here during another time of the year?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Taupo Botanical place is very nice. Here they have multiple collections of plants. Every site they got car parking. There are lots of walking way in side the reserve. Wheelchairs and kids strollers accessibility very nice. Love this place very Much. Every plant got there number tag so you can find way to come out from inside without any guides, if you lost some where.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Waipahihi Botanical Reserve in autumn and the colours on display in the gardens were stunning. There are walking tracks throughout or you could drive (slowly) on a one-way road through the gardens, as well as a vantage point to see the Taupo area from up high. This is also a Toyota Kiwi Guardian site. Public toilets available.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a short stop at this place and I'm not sure we went through all the territory but anyway I liked everything what I saw? Just good way for relaxed walking?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely botanical gardens. Good walks around the various different plant themed bush. A central grass area good for picnic with table and chairs as well as plenty of shade. No rubbish bin in the middle however so be prepared to carry out what you being in. Toilets on site only a short walk away.
