Unfortunately my experience was not very good. I went in to get WOF on my new car (which I have had for a year), I hadn't realised that with a new car you don't need to get a WOF for the first 3 years. I was not asked if I knew this and a warrant was done. I admit I should have known, but I didn't. Surely good customer service would prevail and this should have been checked? An offer to discount my next service or free next warrant was offered, however this is at least 2 years away, so not good enough.

Very good at taking money, very bad at fixing cars.

Big scam, garage to avoid ********* Whether English is my second language or not, the appointment email was very clear. We never asked for an engine check or repair, (screen shot of the email). If the bakcpakers are no longer there, who are you going to rip off ? Kiwis ? Maybe you are already doing it. You deserve 1 star. People need to know that it's better to go to another garage than to get ripped off and have to pay for things you didn't ask for. 450 $ for an oil and filter change, seriously? everyone else would have had the same reaction. Shame on you!

RUN AWAY ! I went to this garage for a simple oil change: oil and filter change, validated by e-mail the day before. When I got my car back, I discovered that a lot of repairs had been added without my agreement. The final bill was way beyond my expectations !! Despite my explanations (and the e-mail as a proof), the owner didn't want to hear anything and left me no other choice than to pay the exorbitant amount.

These are my go-to guys to take care of my precious BMW. Tim, Dave, Marlon and the team are the mechanics you've always been looking for...Skilled enough to do advanced stuff with German cars, yet down to earth and friendly and helpful. They won't do anything that doesn't absolutely need to be done and will actually save you money by coming up with other solutions which is amazing and so hard to find these days. Their work is top notch and they even give me free oil top ups and diagnostic help between services. I cant recommend these guys enough. Knowledgeable, skilled but also cost effective. I won't go anywhere else in the far north!

I phoned to book in a car for a basic service. When I arrived I asked the office girl for the cost. She enquired and on return said $500 plus as it was an SUV. I was shocked at that quote and said 'no thanks'. I went directly to another company across the road where they discussed the various options and prices. And, the cost was $250.

I have used Waipapa auto repairs workshop on at least 3 different occasions, for WOF remedial work, rear wheel bearings and diff seal and bearing. And they provided a high quality of workmanship with these jobs at moderate cost. Today was meant to be a general service and a diagnosis of ABS check light on the dash, but alas it was not meant to be! I ended up leaving a couple of hours after drop off without the service. A word to the wise, this workshop does not appreciate time pressure and prefer if the vehicle is left with them for the entire day. I live an hour out of town and this is my only vehicle so am unable to be without a vehicle and just hanging around for up to 8 hours, and I don't have anyone available in the middle of the week to drive me about for the entire day either, do you? If your vehicle requires a part like an air filter, they do not arrive until late morning and the work is unlikely to start until then, even if you have dropped the vehicle off at 8am as advised when the appointment was made. If you require use of a courtesy car during the wait you MUST book in advance, I was told by the receptionist when I made the booking a week ago that courtesy cars were available, but was unfortunately not informed about the NEED to book for one at the same time as booking the service. I called the day before the service and asked for a ballpark estimate of the cost of the service as well as what exactly the service entails, and in hindsight should have asked them to order the air filter in advance and find out more about the courtesy car system at the same time, I still would have probably been too late for one though. I'm not totally sure, but got the impression that they don't want me back as a customer which is disappointing as ive spent $3000+ dollars with them in the past few years. When I was given my vehicle back 2 hours after drop off without any work done and zero possibility of a courtesy car, I was advised to take my ABS check light to an auto electrician, so am confused as to whether they don't do this kind of diagnoses, or if it was a hint to go away somewhere else. So in summary great service if you live close by or have another vehicle or an entire day to waste. I would also be very specific about what you need and ask many questions, well in advance so there is no confusion and the parts you want are available on hand.
