★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I agree with the vast majority of workers frome here !
I have been working in lot of places in NZ, and Wee red barn is my worst experience. I have never been working with someone so unpleasant and contemptuous. The gooses on the farm are treated with more respect than the workers. Awful atmosphere, no breaks and it's not like you're making money out of this like in many jobs in nz, because you won't get more than minimum wage.
Honestly backpackers : there are so many well paid picking jobs available in North island, treat yourself and go anywhere else.
And to the locals : You maybe would prefer to buy berries from respectful people and support kind people instead of these guys.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not work here! Unless you take pleasure at being treated like s***. Dot provides an unfriendly and foul work environment. I left just after a few days, and I've always been a respectful hard worker whose employers were very satisfied with. If you want to work here, you might wonder how come so many people advise you here not to... Run away!

Mostly negative ones
But went there anyway.
Turns out there are cameras coming out of vegetables and more cameras than fruits and vegetables.
Someone mentioned in the comments the place doesn’t seem hygienic I think it’s true.
Just didn’t get a good vibe from the place, a place selling ice cream should be a little happier not cctv monitored room
Anyway we left
I don’t know how true are the reviews about employees being yelled at and so on, but if it’s true then that’s just bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent selection of berries, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, etc, the strawberries are yummy, get some every year.
There are jars of delicious jams, chutneys, fresh farm eggs, vegetables, etc.
They have a very good collection of gifts for giving, the placemats very eye catching, well you name it they have a great variety.
The staff are lovely people, let you browse in peace, only when you need there help they come over, good parking, excellent
WEE RED BARN l loved it, will always go back.
