Your eyes continue to develop up until the age of 20, therefore we don’t use laser technology to correct vision before a person is in their 20s.
If you’re between the ages of 65 and 85, this is the time many people develop some cataract, so we recommend that you wait to have your vision corrected until the time of cataract surgery. The lens placed in your eye at the time of cataract surgery can correct either short-sight or long-sight. Laser eye surgery can then be used to correct focusing errors that occasionally remain after cataract surgery.

Pretty freaky also, to put your eyes at risk, so super-grateful to the amazing staff who supported the process so positively and gently from 'can I?' to 'will I' to DONE !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got my eyes corrected with SMILE here by Dr Logan and the team. Dr Logan is a kind and compassionate man and you can tell he cares about his patients and his work. Shannon looked after me for all the post operative check ups. She is also very kind and positive. Love how she calls the patient seat 'The Throne'. The receptionists/nurse, are amazing. The nurse was there for the entire operation providing support while Dr Logan worked his magic.
Overall the experience has been amazing. I now have perfect vision and couldn't be happier with the result. I'm so glad I chose Wellington Eye Centre. The level of care, support and results are so high I'm not sure I could thank them all enough. Absolutely life changing. Thank you again Wellington Eye Centre!

Dr. Logan is a miracle-worker and the other staff are equally phenomenal. I have the stress capacity of a gerbil (and anxiety to boot), and not once did I ever feel rushed, pressured, or made to feel annoying with my million questions before and after the surgery (special shout-out to Shannon).
I would do the surgery again in a heart-beat. I've been a glasses-wearer for almost 20 years, and I can't describe how unreal it is to wake up and be able to see straight away, to open my eyes under water in the ocean, to read a book while lying down sideways without glasses sticking into the side of my head! I'm 3 months post SMILE surgery and it has not only enhanced my vision, but my life! Thank you, thank you, thank you Wellington Eye Centre!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Life changing experiance getting my vision corrected and doing away with glasses that I'd been wearing for some 35 years. I had the blendid vision correction so my distance and reading is now excellent. Needed a second surgery on the reading eye to tweak it and all was done without issue. Would highly recommend Wellington Eye Centre to anyone thinking about this procedure.

All of the staff was very hospitable and helpful, I always appreciated that they took the time to explain every step of the process to me, and I was much more calm and comfortable on the day of the surgery than I was ever expecting to be, and a lot of that was because of how well I was being treated. 10/10, would recommend.

I have never had clearer vision and have had no issues or complications at all since having the smile surgery.
