Great for a nice leisurely walk, especially for those with difficulty getting about, as its nice and flat for low-impact walking/jogging. Views are nice, even on a rainy day (though regular stalls & cafes will close typically when wet out). Just remember, it's Wellington, and your on the exposed coastline... expect some wind.

Beautiful waterfront walk on a sunny day. This walk is truly breathtaking on a bright day and well worth the time taken - some 30 minutes or so. The colors in Wellington are very sharp and crisp for my eye. On this day there was a slight amount of blustery wind but not much. as can be seen on the water.

Cruisy waterfront walks on calm days. Duck into a cafe or chill out at a bar on wild Welly weather days.

An extremely beautiful and tranquil place to walk. Simply stunning. An extremely interesting place to have a quiet stroll on a beautiful Wellington Day. The harbour is truly stunning, and dotted with small eateries, restaurants, and things to do. Hire a bike or even a Kyack to see and more. Grab and ice cream and sit in the sun. Lots of places of local historical interest and the Wellington museum and National Museum Te Papa all with a few mile walk. Go for a jog along it to Oriental Parade. Highly recommended even on a windy day

After leaving Auckland I missed daily walks around Winyard quarter But wellingtons waterfront walk is a very relaxing enthralling experience with a group of ecleptic shops and various entertainment. From railway end you walk past the rear of TePapa Muesem There are small caravans to grab a bite of foods from various countries. Walk till the end and experience the beach at the beginning of Oriental Bay This is a relaxing enchanting walk by yourself, and romantic walk taken with a partner. Highly recommend. This is an experience not to miss in Wellington

There's no place like Oriental Bay. It's the ultimate cure for whatever your heart is in need of: fun, relaxation, love or reflection. I can't quite explain it, but there's just something so magical about spending a summer day or night by the bay. When I further my studies in Wellington, I spent a great deal of time here to contemplate or just to take a breather. Being away from home is difficult and challenging, so to cope with it, I would take a stroll by the bay to bask in the sun and let the wind caressed my skin (It can be too windy for my taste most of the time. After all, Welly is known as Windy Wellington). The view of the bay is simply stunning, especially when the sky is blue and clear.
