IF YOU ARE CONTEMPLATING GOING TO THESE DOCTORS DONT!!! i was dealing with serious mental health issues and was told they would refer me to a psychiatrist and after waiting for 2 months and continuously calling about it because I hadn't heard anything to find the referral was never sent, they then decided to send a referral to just be seen by a councilor, on multiple occasions i was lefty sitting in the waiting room for nearly an hour and forgotten about most of the time, receptionist was rude every time i called up or went in, I live all the way up by the rimutakas but hadn't transferred doctors yet, but one time I called up because of a health issue, they asked me to come in and take a test for said health issue, i went and they tried to say they didn't tell me to come into the doctors and i had just travelled near 2 hours on public transport, they got me in with a nurse who sat there and gossiped with her coworker behind the curtain even about my health issue that should have been confidential, now here is the biggest issue i had so buckle up, day before halloween 2020, i started experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection (which most know if left untreated can turn into a kidney infection and be fatal) well i went into the doctors that same day to do the test which is the experience i spoke about previously and i was in great discomfort and kinda knew it was a uti, they gave me antibiotics and then i finished the course and continued to experience symptoms, i went back multiple times within a whole month in constant discomfort and they never could find anything, they just kept giving me ural sachets and said it must be rough intercourse, which i knew wasnt the case because ya girl wasnt getting any, so this carrried on for a whole month of tryin to figure out what was wrong till i finally left that doctors and decided to find a new doctors which was upper hutt health centre, within one visit they were thourouigh and found that i had an ongoing uti that was close to going sepsis and thrush to make matters worse. i was so lucky that i didnt end up in hospital with a kidney infection because these doctors couldnt do their job properly, and with the rest of these reviews im surprised these doctors are still a thing.

The doctors are so incredibly personable and competent. I have been going there for almost 20 years and have never been treated rudely by anyone. It is hard to get an appointment in less than 3 weeks because they're so busy but if you need it for something serious but not an emergency they will try to get it sooner if they can. I have never felt so well taken care of.

I agree with all the comments here...I remember Dr Hegde serviced the Wainuiomata community on his own for years and you could always get looked at on the same day. Now you have almost zero chance of being seen the same day and lucky to get an appointment within 3 days of calling. I have a disabled partner who was told her appointment she made 2 weeks prior was cancelled and expected her to run around making new appointments. She needs a wheel chair but fights to get the swing doors open to the medical center while the rude receptionists watch from the comfort of their chairs...sure sign they have been there to long.

The receptionist are rude, everytime I made a phone call for appointment I have to wait at least 1/2 hour, they ignoring in coming a phone call, they gave the appointment to clients with not ensuring the timetable available on computer.

Can never get an appointment here quickly. It’s honestly ridiculous, it’s like they’ve taken on too many patients. Can’t cope with the numbers and think it’s acceptable to book you in a couple weeks later for something you’re in immense pain for immediately. I wouldn’t recommend signing up here

Had an body sore that i had originally gone to my gp to try get removed or healed. they classed it as a cyst did two types of treatments to try heal it but it only elevated the pain and barely did anything to healing process. for about a good few months same result nothing , paused for awhile and went back again after having a very bad experience with a nursed who ask me everything from what they should use, how they should apply it. then freaking me out while they were pacing and staring at me with very expressive facials saying " i think you need surgery, i think you need surgery " which was totally opposite of what i heard from my gp if they had said that i wouldnt have minded doing that . Went back to see my gp only to be told many months later he doesnt know what it is as a family member asked him about it which shocked me , only to continue with the same type of treatments which i eventually stopped going to. a month later i was able to get it removed at hutt hospital while i was there for something completely different and yes it ended up being a whole different thing to what they had originally said very dissapointing , reception isnt much better either

I luckily got a same day appointment for a puncture wound that happened the night before, but as with the other comments here, the receptionist was rude. I get seen fairly quickly, but the nurse was also rude and chatting with coworkers while I'm waiting for her to get two things to treat my foot with. She was also quite rough with handling my foot which was still really sore and didn't have much regard for her coat which would snag my foot as she walked by me. She gives me back a bandage I used as first aid but threw out other expensive dressings that could have been washed and reused. She then made me walk to the other end of the medical center on crutches, stopping to chat with another coworker on the way. When I'm done and give an acc form to the receptionist she makes me stand there for what felt like 10 minutes (again, on crutches). I'm readjusting myself multiple times getting uncomfortable and when she's done, she doesn't tell me this, so I'm just standing there and have to ask myself. No help getting through the two push doors either. Had a stranger help me from outside when she realised I was leaning to open the door. A seperate time, I felt coerced into taking a smear test when I felt it wasn't necessary. I had other issues that were of bigger importance but because I was overdue for one, that seemed to be the priority. It came back negative for anything and wasted the entire appointment. I had no chance to mentally expect or prepare for a smear test and left feeling violated.

COVID 2022: 1 week ago I rang(9am) to make an appointment to speak with my new Doctor. I was told I was first on Dr H. call back list. A week prior I injured my shoulder and the pain was now causing me sleepless nights. Doctor H rang back (10am) prescribing meds for pain and fever along with shoulder exercises(5 STARS). Payment for Consultation was $18. It's been a week taking these meds and the pain is still causing me sleepless nights. I rang them ths morn(Thurs 9.30am) to speak to Dr H again regarding prescribing new meds. 2hrs later and no call. I rang back and was told that unless I make another appointment($18) Dr H has other paying patients so can only call me back after work at 2.30pm. I rang back 2pm. Was told Dr H had left for the day and won't be back til Monday. All I wanted was a new prescription($10).
