β β β β β We did the lower half of the Whanganui since the upper reaches weren't accessible due to recent heavy rain. The jet boat was a great way to experience the majesty of this amazing river. We enjoyed the stopover at Downes Hut - a wonderful piece of history meticulously maintained for visitors. Our only disappointment was the guide Mark was not as professional as we would have liked. The safety briefing was so brief as to suggest he doesn't take safety seriously. He knows the river well so was able to safely find a route but my teenagers were disappointed in thrill parts of the jet boat experience. He had some good information about the river and its history to impart but his commentaries were peppered with too many personal opinions - some of which were based on incorrect information and other opinions could be offensive to some guests.

β β β β β We have just had a wonderful trip with Whanganui Scenic Experience Jet up to the Bridge to Nowhere. Mark was very experienced and an informative guide of the River history. We had a lovely stop at Jerusalem on the way - and the whole experience was great.
