★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have used the Whataroa Service Station many times and have never had an issue. Ian, Laurie & Pablo bend over backwards to fit in all appointments as well as dealing with people off the streets. I highly recommend this service station to anyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I was stuck in Franz Josef with a flat battery....they drove all the way down from Whataroa to help me out. The mechanic (Pablo) was very good, very professional and yet very friendly and reassuring. I really can't thank them enough.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For an oil change they charged us the double of the amount than the "oil changers" did on our last oil change before, but on the sticker is just written that we can drive 5000km instead of 10000km like we had written on the sticker from the oil changers before. So for us it seems like it's the double of the price for the half of service. When we ask for explaining this they were very stubborn and not nice (Except of one friendly lady).
The one star I give this garage is for the friendly lady at the reception.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In regards to the service provided, they were excellent. Nothing to say, except thank you. However, the location of the incident was literally 500m away from their garage so charging me 300$ for a 30min job felt like a rip off. When asked why, the person in charge told me two people had to get involved, but that was only because a tool was missing, which is not my fault. I conclude that they excessively capitalised on the vulnerable situation I found myself in, which is not ethical. I was surprised by how people can be friendly, to then fraudulently overcharge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst service ever. Never recommend. Rung up to see if they had parts in stock. Got told that they do have the parts. Drove 50 minute round trip and they didn't have and the old lady who works there thats well past retired( dementia I suspect) throught it was funny and told me I can always go to greymouth. Will never stop there again. Will tell everyone I no about the service and how arrogant they are. Will also never buy petrol or service any of my tractors there.
Unfortunately have to choose 1 star to post this. Minus 10 out of 10.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thank You so much IAN for looking after our Car we made it to Picton. Yay… Words are nit enough how great you did for servicing and looking after our car. Very Professional, Honest, Calm and Friendly. Plus the Logistic is really on time.
“We had a breakdown for 2nd time after our car was service and rescued by a Mechanic in Fox Glacier”. Same issue when we had our first breakdown 20 kms. from south of Fox Glacier.
This mechanic will give you the beat option and very honest plus very reasonable for a service fee. May God Bless you for your kindness Ian and Team.
Advised for the Motorist if you had a breakdown around the area from Haast Pass. I really recommend to call or ask help from this mechanic. Highly highly recommend. Try to avoid the one in Fox Glacier.
To AA Members when you ask for a road rescue do request to go or rescue by this road rescuer.
