β β β β β They have some groceries, other supplies and a restaurant/cafe. Quite impressive selection I'd say! Gotta respect them :)
Lots of warm food, drinks, I even got some hygiene stuff I had run out which was a lifesaver!

β β β β β Nearing the end of a month long trip we were passing through whataroa when we were given the news from the australian government that we had to return immediately as the nation was shutting its borders due to covid.
With flights being cancelled, multi hour periods of being on hold on the phone trying to organise a way home we set up outside this general store for the morning while we were trying to figure out a game plan.
Despite having breakfast, lunch, mutliple coffees there and stocking up for the drive the staff couldn't have been more unhelpful, unwelcoming and unashamedly rude.
From sneering at us at a distance while we were figuring out plans to standing around on smoko loudly talking to themselves about how we shouldn't be in their country I'm not sure I've ever felt less welcome anywhere on earth.
Bad vibes. Avoid if not a local.

β β β β β Friendly service, great food. Passing by on bikes with family, topped up our water bottles, lovely place to sit and relax. Can recommend the breakfast Panini!

They have coffee, tea hot food.
Also a small grocery store, all the basics you need.

β β β β β Great place to stop for refreshments. They are well stocked and provide a good range of freshly cooked or cabinet food. Log burner in dining area indoors, spacious clean and comfortable settings. Outdoor tables on deck which on a sunny day is a magical spot to enjoy your coffee and meal. Friendly staff and they are dog friendly. Happy to recommend.

β β β β β Really nice small scale cafe. A space where you can have a coffee, some food or a snack on the way. Some groceries some beer, soft drinks, news paper too are available. A small post shop where u can shop envelopes etc. Nice calm and quiet cafe by the main road. Not much shops or cafes around the little township too. Nice experience.
