★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We Love White Horse, the most authentic Chinese Takeaways in Mount Eden! Their meals are really well-priced and generously sized. My favourite is the Hong Kong style chow mein with bbq pork and the mini spring rolls never disappoint.

Just because I can't reply to your answer as you've blocked it... here's my constructive feedback... cook your food properly!!!! everything was under cooked, chicken was practically running out from chow mein, nearly lost a tooth on raw noodles and my son hasn't stopped throwing up all day..... we've made a complaint and hope they actually close you down. DO NOT DESERVE TO SERVE THIS STUFF TOO HUMANS!!!! ABSOLUTE DISGRACE..... and when we rung you straight away to complain all you said was to bad don't care about any reviews you write!!!
NEVER EVER EVER GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND THE NEXT 24 HOURS IN THE BATHROOM!!!!!

The fish was old - dont advertise fresh fish u know it aint - just say its not available - yr Batter is rubbish too

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely amazing little store has been in Mt Eden for at least 25 years, lovely people food has never once disappointed. Great fish and chips, and good for the classic Chinese takeaways too if you're so inclined. Love the 10 pack of mini spring rolls and the potato fritters

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have eaten here before when I was living nearby about 7 years ago. This week I stayed at a nearby motel for a night and decided to come here again for dinner. I ordered the prawn egg foo yong. What I got was disappointing to say the least. The outside was brown, it was basically burnt - yet parts of the centre were still runny egg which was like eating slime.
There was no flavour to speak of so the only redeeming feature was the prawns. For $18 I could have got something tastier and more filling from the local BK.
I don't know if the standard of the rest of the food is as bad, but I certainly won't be ordering this dish again from here.
Also, when I went to pay I noticed there is a surcharge for using the PayWave option. I chose to accept it for Covid reasons - better than touching the buttons, but I have never seen this before on an EFTPOS machine.
