β β β β β I have a variety of animals and have previously been with another vet but I had an emergency and needed a vet urgently. Wigram Vets were amazing. Very caring and thorough with the examination. I have decided to use Wigram Vets for all of my animals. I have also recommended them to many other people who have also changed to them from another Hornby vet.

β β β β β I went to this vet for my pet's health check up.
Initially advised $65 for check-up, however. Geoff asked for blood test to check my pet's kidney condition which I said 'go for it'. Later I learnt that it cost another $85.
Geoff asked for more and more testing even though blood test result indicate that my pet doesn't have any severe conditions.
I thought it's all part of health check-up but then he brought me a consent and asked me to sign it for further testing. I asked him how much it cost and that was the time he finally revealed the cost of $450+.
I'm happy that I've asked him for the total cost before I sign the consent and I would recommend you all to do the same. This guy will not tell you how much it will cost until you have to pay.
When I said I won't take further testing for my pet, Geoff kept saying that it is very risky and that my pet can die from it, without supporting evidences. I came back home and search google, and also call one of my mate who operating a vet up in Auckland, none of them said that blood test result indicates any significant health conditions that need more costly testing.
Thanks for reading this long review. My bottom line is 'Shop for good vets around your area, and if you have chosen Wigram vet, then make sure you ask for total cost before any treatment/testing if you don't want to end up paying hundreds, if not thousands.'
