COVID-19 UPDATE

Organising the funeral for a loved one is an unfamiliar experience for most people. It is an emotional and upsetting time and yet decisions need to be made to celebrate the life just gone. William Cotton & Sons Ltd will help you through this stressful period providing guidance and support while arranging your special tribute to your loved one.

On 3 December 2021 New Zealand transitioned to the Covid Protection Framework and a ‘Traffic Light System’.

Currently we are operating at Orange within this system.

As an essential service, our funeral home remains open under strict conditions. We are determined to provide the best care and guidance for you at this difficult time. We will continue to support and care for all families in our community in every way we can. 

The government has provided clear guidance on funeral services at Orange.

The following has been created after reviewing all Ministry of Health recommendations. Our intention is to provide a safe environment for everyone who attends a funeral or has to visit our funeral home. As a “public facing” occupation all of our staff are fully vaccinated. Where booster vaccinations are recommended by the Ministry of Health, we will ensure all staff receive these within the approved timeframes.

Public Enquiries and Funeral Arrangements

We do not need to know if people who are making enquiries are vaccinated or not, however people entering the funeral home must be wearing a mask on all occasions with the exception of the Funeral service and refreshments where a mask is optional.

Our staff will wear a mask at all times when in the presence of the public.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Orange settings as at 13 April 2022

The current rules have removed the requirement to be vaccinated, scan or show a vaccination certificate.

There are no maximum attendee numbers at the funeral.  

You are encouraged to wear a face mask. 

Our Funeral home is also equipped to utilise the use of web streaming technology to ensure those unable to attend in person, can view the service from the safety of their own home.
