β β β β β This is a great place to stay with kids.
Itβs not the most modern, but you get such a unique rooms on the plane, train, the boat etc.
My kids loved staying in the tale of the plane so much they didnβt even want to go see the glowworms!
It would be fun if you had a large group staying in all the different units.

β β β β β Says you get the whole boat to yourself on air BNB not that you'll be sharing it with 16 others. Smells terrible and the room was so small you can barely move around. No balcony on room #4. Very hot and stuffy. Would not stay again for $200. It's an $80 room at best

β β β β β Stayed in the Hobbit Unit, was bloody great! Loved the room and will definitely come back.
Was sad to see the property feeling a bit unused and lifeless. The barn at the Top that use to host the Kiwi show could be brought back to life but unsure if this is going to happen.
When you drive in at night the place is pitch black not a single outside light.
Also the info books in the rooms are well outdated and definitely need a bit of a change.
Come on new owners bring this place back to life! A bit of kiwi love is what it needs

β β β β β This is a unique place to stay with rooms made in the shape of planes, ships, a railway carriage, a hobbit house and others.
The room was fine for a family group of up to 6, we stayed in the hobbit room. I noted a damp patch on the ceiling in the bunk bed room also that the gutters may have been blocked. But it did not detract from the fun nature of the room. The room was on a hillside with a view over the property. Sheep walked on the grass covered roof.
Its in quite a large area with plenty of space between the units. Vegetation was lush and it was nice just to walk around. Plenty of bird song in the morning. They washed our groups clothes for ~NZ4 a load which was pretty good although I had to retrieve them myself from the wash room since I needed them.
Probably rates somewhere between 3 and 4 but that should not put you off I enjoyed it.

β β β β β Stayed in the cockpit of the plane. Was warm and cosy and best sleep Iβve ever had in a plane ?. Very cool and quirky place to stay. Highly recommend. And very handy to lovely restaurants and caves

β β β β β Great place in the middle of the nature. We stayed in the Hobbit rooms, they are very spacious and clean. Also there is a good heater and even if it was the middle of the winter, indoor was very warm. There is a private entrance which we loved as we weren't bothered by anyone else. We have young kids (2 and 7) and they loved the accomodation!

β β β β β Great place to stay if visiting the caves, very close to everything.
It's a little tired on the outside (although was the middle of winter) but its warm & very clean on the inside and has everything needed. Kids really enjoyed the downstairs cabins in the boat.
Nice guy that runs it & does his best to make sure everything is OK.

β β β β β I had no pen otherwise I would have left a review in the guest book in the room. My husband and I stayed in the train carriage room and it was great! Loved the privacy that it had along with the views and of course novelty of staying in an 1918 train carriage. Nice out door furniture set too. Great service and location.
