About Zeytin at the Mount

We are situated in the centre of Mount Maunganui CBD.  We open at 9am for coffee and cake and start serving lunch from 11am through to dinner closing at 9pm.

We happily take and encourage bookings especially if it is for a large group or a weekend night.  If your booking is for a birthday or celebration for ten or more people the kitchen will happily prepare a complementary celebration cake.  (Please ask for Mandy when making your booking and note we require two days notice.)

We are a fully licensed restaurant although do not hold a BYO licence.  We are in the Entertainment book and ask you to please note this in your booking if you are using our voucher.

We have a range of  freshly baked bread from our woodfired pizza oven with an assortment of Mediterranean dips to compliment as well as olives, cheeses and fish.  Our mezes are very popular and are a great way to start your meal with an array of tastes.  Tagines, fresh fish, salads and woodfired pizzas are just a few on our menu.  We understand that dietary requirements are important so are happy to point out our gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free options.

We have a family orientated atmosphere with a kids choice menu on display for the little ones.  Our menu changes for the season with tweaks here and there but the favourites always stay.  All of our food is made fresh on site and we pride ourselves in using quality produce and cuts of meat.  Our coffee is locally roasted and therefore is fresh, fresh!

We have worked together since 2007 and co owned Zeytin Mediterranean cafe since 2009.  We are a united team and have a great team behind us working hard to make sure that your Zeytins experience is one to remember.  So when you visit Mount Maunganui on those glorious summer days (or those odd rainy ones!) make sure to visit us for that filling kebab, tasty pizza or salad before hitting the beach!

We hope you love it as much as we do.
Thanks
Mandy & Albert

Whoever the lady was putting the tables out this morning needs an attitude check. My partner asked her politely if they were open and she couldn’t have been anymore cold with her response. β€œNo.” Never eaten here before and won’t even give it a go with people that depressed to be there lol

This place calls it self a cafe, but it is actually a really great restaurant and really good value for such high level food. We had a fantastic meal with starters, mains and desserts all being very good. Authentic with lovely flavours. Keep it up guys.

Came for lunch with a friend and ordered a few dishes to share, the herb and garlic pizza starter was delicious, calamari perfectly cooked and the pumpkin cannelloni was superb! Definitely recommend. Staff are friendly and welcoming :)

7 of us went for lunch and were very impressed. The food was delicious and large serves. Totally recommend the antipasto platter! The service was impeccable. We will definitely be back again!

I don't write reviews but the Beef cheek ragu with rigatoni was not very nice. there was barely any meat in there. (not sure if that's how it's meant to be) my family said pizzas were average and chicken parmigiana was average. the sweet apple cider was about the nicest thing I had. The older man bringing us our drinks was a nice smiley fella though!

We've been here many times over the past few years, sad to see the menu has changed. Really miss the Mediterranean menu as there's nothing else like that around. The Italian menu didn't meet our expectation by comparison and the food we ordered was very average. The seafood pasta lacked flavour, and the beef cheek pasta had almost no meat in it. The chicken parmigiana was nice. But we really REALLY miss the Mediterranean menu!

I hate writing bad reviews and try not to as much as possible but this has to be shared. We stayed at the Mount just after New Years. This place was empty and it was around 10-Ish so we thought we would see what we could find for a late breakfast. Upon asking a lot of the things weren’t available. We thought maybe as it wasn’t lunch time? But the person making the pizza (who was lovely) told us she would make us a pizza - explaining the dough might not be perfect. Which we were fine with. We had a couple slices. And politely asked the person waiting the tables β€˜aggressively’ if we could possible have a takeaway box for our uneaten pizza her response β€œyou’ll be lucky” I was so taken back I was trying to think of things that sounded similar?!! We left the pizza behind, I paid the bill and let the person behind the counter know what happened. He shrugged. Terrible service. We couldn’t have been any nicer.

Came up from Rotorua to try and it did not disappoint. The team were lovely and friendly. We had the baked brie for the starter and it was so good followed by the steak and prawn & avocado salad - both delicious! Will definitely come back again!
