I am a AA Plus Member and would like to convey my gratitude and appreciation for the friendly and professional manner in which we were supported when our Ford Ranger was bogged down in soft sand, during vacationing in the Canterbury district of the South Island. The operator was able to pinpoint our location, and the contractor; Willy, arrived promptly 45 minutes later; as per the text message, to tow our truck out within minutes. We were safely on our way soon after.
The kind, friendly and professional actions of these staff are much appreciated. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending AA Breakdown Service to everyone.

β β β β β If I could give less starts I would, complete waste of money, we broke down and were stranded 4 hours from home. They said the only option was to tow at 1500 of our expense , we waited over 2 hours for them to get back to us in the dark then after a further 3 phone calls they finally sent a guy to check it who was lovely by the way but couldn't do anything. The phone staff were unsympathic to 2 woman stranded at night and told us to Google a mechanic, and too Google accommodation, that we broke down at the wrong time on the wrong day even though its 24/7 I would not recommend this service to anybody

β β β β β Dreadful service and absolute rip off . When you join they want your annual membership money up front immediately then if you are unlucky to breakdown in the first 24 hours they send no one out untill you pay an extra $116 !!! . Shop around people this company is dodgey . They justify it as a stab down period , for what I asked ??? They failed to answer the question

AA apparently are allowed to "turn your car alarm off so u cant start your car" if u havnt made a payment on your loan or insurance. The thing is i havnt missed one payment to date, with proof of that!!
Yet they still can! I have been getting harrassed by the AA service men for months now and they are stalking me now to. AND IM SERIOUS!
They tried to sell me a battery which i didnt need, nothing was wrong with the one i had. I had the printouts to prove it, twice!
So what are these MEN trying to do to our cars other than turning them on and off when they feel like it. Its happened about 7 times now roughly. And they deny it every time.
Then on the last occassion, today, New Years Eve, they made me wait 4hrs or so hours, but sent a different service which didnt help me either. And that man claimed to be a christian. Yea your fruits said everything about you!!!
AND HE WOULDN'T PUT ON A MASK!!!

β β β β β Just want to share my awful experience with AA Roadservice and breakdown assistance
We had a membership with AA breakdown assistance with that we have fully trusted to help us when we really need it.
The first bad experience was when we have returned from a flight at Auckland airport and found that we had a flat tyre at the airport car park, One would think that they will be a service truck at the airport helping thousands of cars that are parked and probably need help, some with flat batteries and some with other issues, we have called and waited for 1 1/2 hours and still the service guy didnβt come and we end up changing the flat tyre ourself. Extremely disappointed.
Second time happen today we have called, booked and paid AA Roadservice assistance $200 to come and change a flat tyre at 4pm, we had a assistance booking at 8 pm for their service to arrive and help. The service people have never arrived or did call us to let us know that theyβre not coming. After we have called and complained to the AA service at 8:30pm they said sorry we were too busy and donβt have time to comeβ¦ haβ¦ we were waiting for nothing and have been disappointed and letdown again by AA Roadservice and breakdown assistance
We highly recommend NOT to use the membership services of AA Roadservice and breakdown assistance is it not worth the membership or the or the trust.

β β β β β I got a flat tire yesterday around 5pm. I called AA roadside rescue. Had to wait more than 20 minutes for the call to be answered. The woman who answered said they were extra busy because of Valentines day! I told her my name and details. She said I wasn't a member. I said I definitely was and told her all my details. She said No I wasn't in the system and suggested I call a contractor and pay $195. But maybe they wouldn't answer! She put me through to AA insurance but I couldn't get through. Finally I called AA insurance and the woman said Yes, I was a member and put me through to Roadside rescue. This time the woman was brilliant and put me through as High priority and someone came and helped me about 10 minutes later.
