Firstly the car is off site and you need to get a van to pick you up. Fine if you were told upon booking but the booking says β€œin terminal”. Aside from the fact they poorly advertised that you need a credit card and otherwise you have to take out full self cover of another $25 a day (wouldn’t be surprised if they do this on purpose to make more money), the outside of the car was so filthy that it was almost dangerous. Windows and wing mirrors were covered in filth and had to clean whilst driving along as we stupidly assumed that basic thing would be done when we hired. A word of advice, don’t go budget - just spend a few more pennies up front and go for safety, convenience and time. Ace need to stop blaming the fact that it was due to a third party that information wasn’t seen - it’s your responsibility to ensure people are well informed.

First time using these guys.... and probably the last. Car was a surprisingly zippy Nissan tiida. The problem was that it wasn't groomed and couldn't see out the side windows and the wing mirrors were caked in dirt. The interior had been groomed and smelt nice. It was just the outside of the car. The lady on the desk who provided the car was less than helpful about it. The return lady was fantastic and couldn't believe it had been rented in that condition.

Sorry to say. But this was a poor experience. I have used car rentals a lot in the last 3 years and I think this experience was not good. I trust the staff at the front desk does the best they can but they need training in basic customer service. More staff is needed . If you have plenty of time it would be no problem for you being paused many times by the lady answering the phone and dealing to other customers needs first without appologising to you for answering other calls first. Check in takes about 45-60 mins. Returning the car was exactly the same experience. Our car was not clean outside.

Booked a car 3+ days in advance and when I turned to pick it up, I was told there were no cars available due to other customers not returning vehicles the night before. I was first in that morning and was told to wait 5-10 minutes while they got a car from Hertz for me. Over the space of 1.5 hours, more and more customers arrived in and were told the same thing, with no indication of any cars coming from Hertz. I received a car 2 hours after I had arrived, which was not full of petrol or washed (I said that was okay because I was in a hurry). When I left, there were over 10 irate customers who had weddings, funeral and a horse race - I don't know when they finally received their rentals. The communication from staff was poor and they didn't front up responsibility for the issue. I will not book with Ace again and would not recommend to others.

I would give them zero stars if it were possible. Do yourself a favor and book with somebody else. The Wellington branch were shocking. They are based away from the airport terminal and this added at least an hour to the overall process (mainly because of the terrible instructions and poor service). From here you get dropped in a dirty shed where you are introduced to the rudest careless Ace representatives. If you would like to slightly alter your booking, forget about it. They aren't interested in trying to help you as there is a blanket rule that they will not alter any bookings, regardless of availability or how little you need to change it. The car was OK and didn't have any issues however they demanded a $750 deposit because I took insurance out with another company. My brother arrived later on the same day as me with his family and had a similar experience. The car seat for their infant child (which they had requested during booking) was nowhere to be seen, the other car seat for their two year old daughter was a dirty pile of old car seats in a dirty corner where he was told to find the best one he could. When he asked for help installing the car seat, he was told that nobody had training for this. Unfortunately they left the airport with their infant on his wife's lap and waited at the airport for me to bring them one from Lower Hutt. Talk about annoying. When dropping off the car I was told of new scratches and dents that were not their previously. Luckily I had taken my own photos before leaving and was able to show the date and time these were taken. Once they saw these they agreed I didn't have to pay damages. Typically you can outline damage to the vehicle on a document however they said this was pointless as the damage to cars had been documented and photos taken. DON'T BELIEVE THEM. Zero out of five stars. Do yourself a favor and book a car from one of the rentals that are located in the terminal who actually want your business. I believe with the right company attitude, all the issues experienced could be resolved. I have placed my feedback with Ace and hope they listen so nobody goes through what I went through.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Shuttle was waiting us outside domestic airport terminal when we arrive. Wasn’t take too long for paper work. They even allowed us to park the car outside of the office, due to it’s too difficult to find the parking in city. Save us lots of time in cold and rainy day, we really appreciate for that. Great service, highly recommended!!

Booked and paid a deposit to pick up from the airport (as I live close by). When I found out the depot was in town I called for a refund. A call and two email, and two weeks later, no refund. And, no further communication.

This is first time i write a review. Most important never pick the calls, not even if you try any other branches. lie on the face saying" its working in the morning' i try keep in touch from morning ( not working from 2 days ) Do not expect they pick you from Auckland Airport. Not sure I am going to get the Deposit will come back to me or not. If the phone lines are not working.
