★ ★ ★ ★ ★ just charged my credit card for the hire. I had been told in Auckland this card was only to reserve the car in case of theft, damage or fines incurred by us. despite intending to pay with another card we weren't given a choice in Wellington and just handed a receipt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very bad customer service experience from wellington branch. Lots of hidden charges. Online price and original bill is entirely different. Lots of extra charges which is not mentioned either online or by staff. Not recommendable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I originally picked up the vehicle from Queenstown, and had to drop it off at Picton and pick up a new one in Wellington. Due to a mix up at Queenstown, the staff at Hania St expected me to show up a day prior to my actual arrival, and that resulted in my reserved vehicle not being available. However, they immediately upgraded me to the next class and within 5 minutes I was on my way. Excellent customer service and very kind people working here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 27th february 2020. Never use hertz from this depot. The woman we had the misfortune of first encountering after arriving to drop off an Ace rental was undoubtedly the most repulsive human being in New Zealand. Her displeasure at seeing people waiting for the office to open was evedenced by the scowling look on her face, eye roll and turned up lip openly displayed. Her attitude was disgusting for a representative of Hertz...or any company for that mater . She was openly verbably rude and condescending . I have never in my travels met a person with such a low level of human interactive skills. Never use hertz from this location. The lady representing Ace was a perfect example of excellent customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid at all cost, WORST rental car service! Dealing with dodgy, unprofessional, incompetent staff who don’t know how to provide customer service. Car was a mess when received, vehicle was returned early but they tried to get insurance company to cover extra 3 days and our deposit was not refunded even though on the day it was dropped off 4 days before holiday period we were told it would automatically be processed 1-2 days, close to 2 weeks nothing received but excuses from Howard who did not care but hung up on me. Ensure you record conversation, when I said we want to talk to his manager he brushed it off, lack of communication skills on top of his arrogant and rude demeanour made it an unpleasant experience. Even when we were on our way to pick up the car 1 hour before close time I called and he said no booking he cannot provide vehicle as they are closing soon, I had to call the insurance company who informed me it has been booked and they will deal with it, not long after Howard called to apologies he clearly mucked up in trying to avoid providing service. Hanis St branch is the worst Hertz branch ever to deal with, avoid them if you can.
