★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a magical afternoon enjoying wonderful food with great wine on a perfect Autumn day in a perfect setting. Lovely staff, who were friendly and efficient. Had the prawns to start, followed by the salmon, with sides of beetroot and twice cooked potatoes. No room for dessert - maybe next time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've been to Akarua a few times now and we love it!! The wines are delicious and the setting is beautiful. It's a buzzing space, but with a lovely relaxing feel at the same time. The staff are lovely and accomodating. There was a really great duo playing music as well which just added to the ambience!! Such a nice place to spend the afternoon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loved everything from the garden to the fact that I could bring my dog. From the location to the delicacy if the food. From the service to the kindness and friendliness of the staff.
It took me too many months, years to come, but worth the wait and I'll definitely make my way back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loved the food !! We also did a wine tasting after which was free. We did buy a bottle of wine, not sure if you usually pay for tastings at the cellar door if you haven’t eaten at the restaurant? Anyway, great staff who were knowledgeable and super friendly as well. Sorry I didn’t get photos of all our food! We had the breakfast and loved it. Would go back for sure, a really nice outdoor area! They have heaters for the chilly days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food 11/10, staff 4/10. This was one of the best meals I had on my recent trip to New Zealand, the food was simply spectacular. Unfortunately, our experience was completely overshadowed by two passive aggressive staff members, which is really a pity since this was a very important lunch for our family. That said, really, the food was amazing and the wine as well. I highly recommend going for the food and also to enjoy this picture perfect venue. We shared the lamb shoulder, roasted carrots and parsnips. Really, really good. Food wise, the lunch is competing with Mudbrick Vineyard for #1 lunch spot on our trip. I really hope the staff could be kinder with guests since the venue and food are amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Enjoyed a fantastic lunch at Akarua Wines. The setting is perfect, the staff are friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely top notch. Home baked bread with truffle butter gets things going followed by a couple of entrees. Then the mains- slow roasted lamb shoulder and salmon with the most amazing roast potatoes. A great selection of wines to choose from. Altogether a wonderful experience. 10 out of 10
