Despite poor reviews this may be people’s expectation vs reality. They where very gental and caring for my 3yo getting cornrows with pink. Great result. I recommend

Hi I came in to the shop today to get coloured dutched braids but I am not happy with them as the lady who did my hair made it look so crooked and uneven I feel embarrassed to wear it. I mean it’s nice they’re just not straight

I will never return, and don't recommend this shop to any one! the customer service there is horrible. I was a first time customer, so I asked a question about the authenticity of an African food ingredient they sell, the lady responded rudely, and in her anger and arrogance she insulted and condemned people of my nationality. I was shocked and horrified actually. It was so offensive and completely unacceptable.

Terrible customer service. I wanted some dreadlock extensions put in. Tempery ones ,that you can take out in 2weeks. The manager said bluntly no they cant do it & basically hung up on me! For a salon that specializes in braids, I find it very hard to believe they couldn't braid in my dreadlocks. Considering my hairdresser could do it!!!!

I had a 5 -6 hour job that ended up taking 8-9 hours long. The owner is constantly distracted. She was doing my hair and stopped midway to have a conversation with her friend which went on for 45 minutes ( I timed it). She didn’t give me any indication on how long she’d be she just left during my appointed time. I sat and waited after 45 minutes she finally sent one of the girls to do the rest of my hair while she continued her conversation (beyond unprofessional). When she finally came back made the lady undo some of the braids and to do it again. The rest of the staff are kind but could be treated much better. It became awkward at times sitting there while she yells at them. The whole experience was very uncomfortable I just wanted it to be over. Please treat your staff better as they do work for you that plays a very important role in your business.

Had my hair done a couple of years ago. Very friendly atmosphere if you're in the mood for party music but...as a hairdresser myself, quite a few things made me cringe (starting with the dollar shop scissors. At one stage I had three people working on my hair (one of them had come in for a job interview and was put to work straight away. She nearly collapsed with exhaustion after an hour). My braids weren't consistent in size as a result. The ends were finished with a cigarette lighter (rather than dipping in boiled water for a softer finish) and this was quite uncomfortable later on. They also took to the braids with clippers afterwards to cut off pieces of my own hair that were poking out (not sure if there actually should have been hair poking out in the first place). The coloured pieces I had put in didn't feel like a quality product and they itched so much that I took them out and rebraided them myself. When other customer's came into the shop, the owner wasn't very polite to them and would talk about them with me after they left. I can only imagine what she would have said about me after I left! Glad I did it but decided I would never do it again. I've since done them myself with a much nicer (and more comfortable!) result.

My brother went in yesterday and asked to do his dreadlocks and the owner rudely ask "what you want?" he got mad by her tone and mannerism and he kept his cool as he was dealing with a woman. He was told to book an appointment which is for 22/4/2021. He rang in for an appointment and he got told rudely again NO APPOINTMENT and she hung up. Like who does that!!! Very soon people won't tolerate this ladies attitude. I hope nobody goes there again. NO STAR

I started going here when I was 13 years old as this store was the only place that had the makeup I wanted in stock. The women working there and the owner were so friendly. When they moved to hunter plaza everything changed. The owner was so incredibly rude. She yelled at me when I asked if there was a certain product in stock. You're not able to enter or browse the store without being yelled at by the owner. Absolutely horrible as I've been a loyal customer for 10 years. I'm never shopping there again.
