When we opened our first store in Christchurch in 1995, our dream was to create a true pet superstore that could offer the complete pet experience and help New Zealand be the best pet parents they can be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I just wanted to say thankyou to Miranda and her team at Animates Tauriko. Shes an incredible leader and you can see that in the way her staff respond to her. I have a 13 year old dog, who is my life, and senior groomer Cynthia and Pippa have been unbelievable. Not just thier grooming, but more importantly, thier compassion, understanding and flexibility. You must be so proud of this team. I was therre last Sunday weighing my dog Ollie because he has kidney disease (That in itself is a massive responsibility for a groomer, and ive been refused numerous times..... understandably) Miranda was there, out of hours trying to ensure things were prepped for Monday. It made me think about how one takes ownership of thier work, They dont count the hours in thier working day, they just work until the job is completed You must wonder why im writing so much, and to be honest, its because im not used to this kind of thing. This kind of dedication. I want to mention every staff member, but i dont know thier names. Skye is the first person i usually see when Ollie and i walk in the door, and she recognizes his anxiety at being there doe a greoom. She settles him down before Pippa comes out and gives him all the attention in the world. Cynthia...........? well, not sure how i can possibly thank her. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good stock of products, most of the staff are super friendly and helpful. The store is pet friendly and the dog wash is super popular. Only criticism is when there was not the item I needed and I asked if we could get from tauranga I couldn’t pay for everything at tauriko. I had to pay for the other item at tauranga store.
