On Sunday, 8 May 2022, the Sunday of Myrrh-bearing Women and the feast day of St. John the Evangelist, Father Antonios (Anthony) Tinawi was ordained by Metropolitan Basilios at St. Mary Dormition Church in Mount Pritchard, Sydney.
The Metropolitan in his speech to the ordained encouraged the new Priest to undertake his ministerial duties with courage and zeal leading people to the path of Christ.
Histroy
The Wellington mission was formally started in 2000 following the visit by Thrice Blessed Memory, Metropolitan Paul, the Archbishop of Australia and New Zealand, though the reposed Fr Jack Witbrock had been visiting Wellington approximately monthly since April 1999.
