β β β β β I was visiting with my elderly parents (in their 90's). This is a bank they have an account. My father can be quite unsteady on his feet and wanted to ask a quick question about his account. Unfortunately every time, bar one, that my sister and I went into your bank the line was very long and the wait times were unreasonable. I spoke to a lady at a desk and explained about my father and she told me she was too busy to help and turned away from me (quite rude). I had to hold my fathers arm to keep him steady while we waited. A few weeks previous to this my sister was in there with my mother (who is on a walker) and moves very slowly and was waiting in line for quite some time when my mother mentioned she had to use a bathroom. My sister was told that she would have to go out with my mother and use the public bathrooms down the street. Unfortunately my mother could not get there as she was quite weak just having come out of hospital and was moving slowly. My sister rushed her home in the car without getting what they wanted done at the bank.
It appears on the number of times I have been into your bank the following is true:
- Customer service is not something practiced here.
- The line waiting for a teller is usually too long and too much of a wait.
- As a general rule (there are exceptions) most people are doing their job but are not friendly and certainly do not go out of their way to be helpful.
Based upon this I would not use this bank at all. My father also has an account at the BNZ, they are friendly, helpful and understanding. They know him by name and greet him. If the line gets more than a few people, help comes quickly and I have even seen the manager walk the line talking to people and seeing if help can be given while people are waiting. The difference is night and day.
Overall attitude comes from the top. So for this ANZ branch to have such a pervasive unhelpful and uncaring attitude among so many of your staff - I would comprehend that such an attitude comes from the Manager.
Seniors may not need a lot of help, sometimes just a little extra assistance.
Shame on you, shame on your manager.
