★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our family of four (kids 12 & 13) stayed three nights in the glamping tent over Christmas and absolutely loved it. The fun of camping but in comfort! Top quality shared facilities were super clean at all times. Te Arai really is the best beach, but it was also a great base to explore Mangawhai, Langs Beach and Waipu Cove. The great service was genuine and Che has an excellent team. Husband had his first ever surf lesson and is now catching waves. Highly recommend this place, we’ll definitely be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our group of 14 just had our trip over there. The view was stunning. Teepees were located down a small hill. It was a bit troubling whenever you need to go up the hill to use the bathrooms and the kitchen. But thanks to the friendly stuffs, the cleanliness of the kitchen and toilet, and the variety of beach activities, we enjoyed our stay very much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning location with expansive views and a short drive to Te Arai and Forestry beaches. Rooms are equipped with storage and a TV, shared cooking and bathroom facilities were clean. Really impressed with the amount of work that has gone into creating this place - the fire pit, loungers and forest walk all contribute to the uniqueness. Will certainly be visiting again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Solo trip chasing the swells after a storm. Perfect spot to hang the wetsuit, relax and rest before the next session. Friendly staff and the owner made an effort to make sure everything was fine. Awesome personal touch. I’ll bring the family next time. Definitely worth checking these guys out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are planning on staying here make sure you take fly spray. The bed was full of ants. No kidding. ANTS. Under the duvet, on the sheets, in the pillow cases. Squashed weavils on the ceilings not cleaned up, left by previous unsuspecting guests I assume. And a lone blowfly that wouldn't quit. The response I got was a noncommittal "Sorry we are trying our best to manage that, and we keep fly spray in the kitchen". Cool that wasn't advertised anywhere for me to use last night and also clearly not trying hard enough to manage, as any type of bugs in a bed that you are paying two hundred a night to stay in should 100 percent not be there. 1 star rating. Yuck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stayed in one of the eco pods and also had a 2 hour surf lesson and I can say is that my stay was absolutely magical! I absolutely love the place and will for sure be back again soon! The grounds were amazing and the views were spectacular. 11/10 recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hubby and I absolutely loved our stay here. The view from our pod was amazing, and we love what the owner has done with his property. The facilities are nice and clean, and the bed super comfy. We also booked paddle boarding and a surf lesson with them, which was so much fun. The owner is lovely - very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back to stay again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fabulous stay at Aotearoa Surf Eco Pods. My daughter and I chose a yurt which was perfect. Perfectly set up with a queen bed and two single mattresses. Very stylish. Great views of the ocean. Great clean and new communal bathrooms and toilets. Communal kitchen with stove, fridge, jug, toaster and everything you need to make your own meals. Picnic tables outside kitchen and yurts. Super close to Te Arai beach which is beautiful. Loved our stay. Thanks.
